Dull day in work today, day off tomorrow, more Opel fettling. If the parts turn up today as expected she will be ready to use.
I installed an electric fan with manual override but after wrestling with it for a whole afternoon, the unit was duff so I am awaiting a replacement then I have to rip it all out and do it again.
The rough running turned out to be a slack rocker on the hydraulic tappets, a leak from the seal where the vacuums pipe meets the servo and the introduction of a new Weber carb with electronic choke and replaced all the ignition and upgraded to electronic ignition, which is a module that sits inside the dizzy replacing the points and condenser.
She is running much better and the vacuum gauge I bought was superb, pointed out where all the issues were and also allow you to set the timing more accuratly than relying on the timing marks and a strobe light.
