The good morning thread

Back from a cracking day on track, marred only by a lack of gears first thing (1st and 2nd only don't make for a fast lap). Gave the car a good talking to back in the pits, and strangely they reappeared and stayed available all day. Very busy due to being a Bank Holiday, but as predicted many of them were kn0bs who destroyed their cars (tyres/brakes/both) early on, ending up with just 9 running for the last couple of hours in perfect sunshine. Excellent :)

Let a few kids sit in the car too, whilst their parents took photos. Big grins and very excited boys - obviously made their day to sit in a race car. A slightly older one spent ages trying to work out how the suspension worked, once I'd removed the bodywork. Great to see kids with a real interest in actual engineering, rather than just the PlayStation.

Yes totally agree
I had a pleasant day in the warm sunshine. I stripped down an old dead petrol lawnmower and re built it and it works just fine - great day

Grafted all day detailing the GS but it was worth it!

Now to a standard I can be happy with at least on the outside, took it out for a blast this evening on a private road and stretched its legs good and proper now I'm happy with the fluids.

Then tucked her up in the indoor cover that came with it.

Somewhat exhausted now...

Hope so, first coat of wax on is Vintage zymöl which is telephone numbers expensive stuff, 70% white carnauba, glorious finish, I'll pop a few more coats on to be really happy with it. Gives a 'liquid look'

It does that. The paint is in good nick, then?

Yes, generally in great shape but it has mostly been garaged and with only 18k on the clock it should be, both bumpers need minor parking dinks sorting in good time and all four wheels are kerbed and their last refurb is a crappy attempt at Mercury and a truly awful refurb so when I can I'll get them stripped and powdered. I did need to clay the whole car thoroughly but I was always going to, it did have a lot of contamination, iron, sap and other crud.

Good Morning Everyone, back in work after picking up Mrs MLC from her trip to see the family. She's quite impressed with my DIY projects around the house and back garden. She's got a job interview this week then she's coming over to LGW before we go off to the MotoGP for the weekend. Hopefully another good result for Cal, a british rider hasn't won in ten days...lol

Morning from Bruges, heading to Dunkirk soon for booze run then Ferry back to Blighty. Day 13 and over 2k miles covered on some stunning roads with some terrible drivers. One near miss with a swerve after a Belgian decided to just pull out.

Was it your own?

Morning all, local again today, maybe another coat of wax later and sort the wheel centre cap logos out.

Have fun all...

No MAF in sight this time and in the spare bedroom as Mrs C has a nasty cold and I don't fancy catching that.

Had an amazing weekend, MAF and I behaved like a pair of naughty school children and met and chatted to loads of the locals and an American nob called Jock or something who is coming to Brighton to study next year.

Lille is an amazing place I don't know how we missed that one on our Forum trips but one that will go on the calandar fur sure.

Le Toquet, well was Le Touquet and considering we were hanging from our Lille experiance managed to go large and got in a worse state than we did the night before, so for to old bu99ers, back to back 12 hrs drinking binges I thought we did well. We did pay for it yesterday though.

Chuckling at the flashbacks still, have loads of vids but they are all too rude to post.

Morning all. Feeling the after effects of hours in the sun yesterday. Why didn't I put the sun cream on?

Back to work after a few days off. Reading through my emails why do people always look for a complex solution to things when there is a simple one staring them in the face?

Will take a look at the photos, and video of the ride in, from Oulton Park later.

Morning!

Sounds like lots of fun, you two morons!
Newton, a shiny GS is a happy thing indeed.
Hoyin, fantastic to have a garage. Liking the Noble.

I'm in Brighton this morning having stayed a night with a childhood friend. It was a very fun evening, which makes up for having to drive for work on a bank holiday.

Hopefully I'll get back with loads of time to dump things back in the office drop off this hire car, go for a swim and then out for my best friend's birthday.

No idea what to do regarding cars... When will I get my Saab back from France? Pass.
I'd better get a new set of rubber on Myfanwy this week as she's my only car once this hire car goes back.

Is it easy to get a hire car I can use across the channel as I have to drive to France for business next Monday to Thursday? Suggestions or insight with this would be appreciated if anyone here has done it.

HapPea Tuesday!

Stevie, there are very few hire companies that will let you take a hire car abroad but they do exist. Good luck.

Morning all. Office bound today. Loads to sort this week as I'm only working 3 days this week, and 2 next week.

Better crack on.
