I am not :(

Never been beaten by a car and not about to be either.

Just like to point out I in no way blame the previous owner, he's been brilliant in assisting me through this.

I wouldn't have thought anything different, just a tad more challenging than envisaged - i am sure you will get there eventually

Those QP VI prices have dropped like a stone! That's an anazing amount of car for the money. They are big though, I think. You berth them, rather than park them.

Thank's for the Vanquish. "Luckily" it has the old 'box and is slower than the one I'd ideally have. I see a V12 Vantage S in my future. They have a broad spread on price, but I think with patience and some good negotiating one would make a perfectly sensible, financially prudent, environmentally sensitive investment.

It's 40cms longer than my E Class so I guess it is a bit of a land yacht!
Still, looks nice enough. And my Merc is coming up to 90k so will chop it in before the mythical 100k-price-drops-like-a-stone-mileage.

Didn't know there were different boxes on the Vanquish. What are you after?

That QP VI is a shed load of car for the money, even though its big it has a air of grace and presence about it

Thanks Adam. Actually, I am meeting one of my clients in Abu Dhabi and they own Yas Island and everything on it! They've just opened the Louvre there which confuses me as I don't understand fully how you can think that culture and history is something you can simply build with a large enough chequebook. Hopefully, I will win a piece of work at their new Warner Bros World destination which open in June. It will be cool to be paid to be there for a few weeks and top up my Glasgow tan.

It looks like an impressive building. Worth a look round, I would think. Anway, some work there would definitely be welcome at this time of year. As they own Yaz, get them to buy you the Johnnie Rocket burger.

Funnily I have one in the shed but with a munched crank.

In this case, I'm assuming that a "munched crank" isn't anywhere near as much fun as it sounds..?

Didn't know there were different boxes on the Vanquish. What are you after?

The Vanquish got itself a transaxle-mounted 8-speed ZF box in 2014. It has two extra gears, which adds around 20mph to the top-end, giving it 201mph, and brings the 0-60 time down to a shade below 4 secs. It's the one to have. Other than the newer Vanquish S which is still silly money but sounds epic.

Got it too. Trouble is keep it three years and it will easily drop £15k and possibly £20k so it's cheap but will still lose plenty. Dicky has just got in a blue QPV auto at £20k. I would take that instead.

Sh!t start to the morning for me..........Found a new massive pothole in the road to work at 7:00 while it was still dark and it was full of water. Luckily was just by our car park as this was what I found when I parked upWP_20180126_08_03_13_Pro.jpgWP_20180126_08_02_43_Pro.jpgWP_20180126_08_56_21_Pro.jpgWP_20180126_07_30_10_Pro.jpg
Now the hard job to see if the Council will cough up my costs??!!

Indeed, over a year or two of ownership it would be far cheaper to pay for the petrol in a QPV than the diesel plus depreciation of a QP VI. The lowest depreciating and best driving of the lot is the QP V GTS. If only there was one of those for sale at around the £20k mark, from a forum member, in Med Blue.....

Vamp; should be easier than you think as there is marking paint on the hole so they 'know' about it and have not repaired it in reasonable time so they will roll over easily..

That QP at £34k is bonkers cheep. What is going on?

Bargains to be had. All diesels are dropping like a stone at the moment.

You only have to look at Mercs, BMW's, Audi's, even Range Rovers all diesels are falling in price.

A 2014 CLS Merc AMG Line can be had for sub 20k now. 6 Months ago the cheapest was about 28k.

Cheers Newton............Funnily enough another colleague of mine said exactly the same thing to me about half an hour ago, so you have just confirmed what he said. Now to get the receipt for £250,000 for the alloy repair:wink:

What a day.

Negotiations with the NTUS...10 of them and me, so felt rather outnumbered. However they fully support my approach and getting four unions to support your project is quite an achievement.

Now I just have to get one last group on board and full steam ahead for a major change.
