To answer to origional query and ignoring the others; I was t my usual hungry last evening and was of a mind to just have some fish & chips but ended up in Bigg Square up the hill having wandered aimlessly for an hour or so. The ‘chippy’ didn’t do fish just pizzas, kebabs and fried chicken and the likes. I was struck with a curiosity called a Parmesan with a selection of fillings from mushrooms to bolegnaise, I chose salami.

What arrived was something alkin to a ten inch round chicken nugget topped with mozzarella, salami and tomato.

Sufficiently stuffed I retired to the Brew Dog pub to try a few of their specials.

Ah well mate
You have just discovered a delicacy that originated in Middlesbrough and is known as the Teesside / MiddlesbroughParmo
It was originally Pork but being poor, we choose to use Chicken more often than not. Covered in Breadcrumbs and some sort of Cheese that was laying around.
You are now an honorary Teessider
The bad part is you also have to support the Boro and that can be a trial
well done!

Started my days in the Black Country Newton and my Dad had a Garage in Dudley and never once had a battered chip mate.
Changed a lot since the mid 70'S though.

Morning!

London and the office this morning, pub in Clerkenwell this afternoon, Thai near home with friends this evening. I shall be moving slowly at all times - this heat is no good for us lily-white northern Europeans.

Morning all. Back with my nose to the grindstone today.

Yesterday was a good one. Despite the Brera not going to the paint shop as they are rammed at the mo, its been pushed to next Wednesday.

So this gave me time to button up the Brera running issues.

The engine is all good and the fidget list complete. I still had some starting issues half an hour into the warm down cycle and was also still loosing some coolant.

Warm Starting.
I installed a check valve (one way flow valve) just before the fuel filter and its sorted it. I finally have a fully starting Brera on the button everytime now. The issue was that the hot fuel was seeping back to the tank. The addition of a check valve stops this so fuel lines are always primed.

Coolant Loss.
I purchased a few weeks ago, a coolant pressure tester. Its a valve with a pressure gauge that attaches to a compressor and in turn to the expansion tank of the coolant system. You run it up to 1.5 bar with the engine hot and off so the thermostat is open. At first, nothing so I just left it to sit for half an hour pressurised. Came back and there was a puddle under the car which was easy to locate. It was a tiny hole in one of the minor pipes that goes from the head to the thermostat. Trimmed it and refitted...no leaks now.

Went for a long drive and everything was spot on!

I also previously sorted the rattle over bumps which turned out to be that some donut (no names but we know who you are) had fitted the rear DPF mount 180 degrees round the wrong way and was knocking against the gas line.

The Brera is now in rude health and just waiting for paint. I did the wheels a few weeks ago at home and very impressed with the results.
