I can't imagine any of the members hating any of the models.

There can be little doubt the GS is a fantastic car.

The GS was and is the best model in the 4200 range..This is in no doubt ....... Every motoring review agree's with this ...... As per most models they learnt over time yhow to make the model better in every way and as the last in line it was always going to be the best one.........but if you don't like the llok of the body add ons then it's not for you I suppose..

For the most part I agree but things are improved in the direction they are wanting to sell / aim a car, if that happens to be the car you want it is the best obviously.

But there are lots of cars that change direction and become less sporty / luxurious over the production run so despite maybe being more "sorted" are not always better!

I hope that makes sense?

Perfect sense and there are lots of examples of that without a doubt......I do think with the GS though as a drivers car it is the best of the bunch.....and this is shown from magazines like EVO who are all about drivers cars..They say the same....From the 3200 I owned and the 4200's and GS's I have driven the GS was the one that made the lasting impression as the drivers car...Which I suppose is what Maserati were trying to do with this model...They succeeded.

IS the GS a sports car...Not sure...It's still a GT more with an edge maybe.....Maybe it is a sports car..

there is no upgrade from a 3200......all the cars (4200, GS) are similar but different......
an upgrade would be a 458 or an F40.....what car would give you the smiles and "look at me" looks for under 15k??

At time of production the 4200 was a deemed an upgraded, improved and better car than the 3200 model it replaced...it was just building on the already good (but perhaps 'temperamental') earlier derivative...

Maserati were hardly going to make an inferior car, that wouldn't make sense at all :)

That doesn't mean that the 3200 isn't a good car which of course it is. And the later GS is a sportier more sorted car overall - simples.... :thumb1:

They tried to convince people it was!

Probably more refined and modern but better .....
