After more than 30 years, more than 50 cars and more than a million miles of driving mainly German cars, I have finally taken the plunge and allowed my heart to rule my head and buy a car that I have yearned for for nearly 10 years. I can still remember being seduced by the lines of the QP when it was launched and I am delighted to finally have this piece of automotive art in my possession. It replaces a 5.5 biturbo E63 and a long line of M5, M6, C63, RS6, etc, all impressive in their own way but ultimately sold. The only exception is my 993, bought 12 years ago and still a great analogue driving experience!
Anyway, I spent many hours trawling this forum for advice and guidance and really appreciated a chat with Richard Grace, who unfortunately sold the car I wanted before I got to him! Thanks for encouraging me Richard!
My car was delivered by JCT600 this morning and I was very impressed as the car was unloaded by what for all intent looked like a new car, despite being 4 years old! Having covered 150 miles on a fair variety of roads today confirmed what a great drive these cars are. Highlights; the noise...the steering....the noise....the balance (front mid engine?).....the noise.....the seats.....the noise.....the head turning looks and of course the noise it makes. Less than highlights; the ride (compared to the E63), still cannot attach my iPhone to bluetooth, the iPod/iPhone connector does not charge the phone, less than intuitive Sat nav......so nothing really important!
So no regrets and genuinely excited about the prospect of Maserati ownership!
Cheers, Guy
