Was there another car manufacturer you were really into before Maserati?

Speed Triple was my favourite bike. The Monster was good, but water soluble. The Sprint ST 1050 was amazingly competent, just not really me.

I had a 1050 Sprint and I too found it to be a great all rounder although a little out of its depth on track. Sold it and got a Gen 2 Aprillia RSV Factory. Great all rounder and not out of its depth on track. It sounds good too with Akrapovich pipes.

Speed Triple was fantastic. Test rode one and loved it but I needed something that would be a better long-distance bike and got a Yamaha YZF1000 Thunderace. Charmless and a bit bloated but great for long runs. Sold it when I stopped using it daily and found myself trying to get a fortnight's worth of adrenal rushes in the occasional weekend blast. There were only two ways that would end, so it had to go. Always hankered after an Aprilia since the RSV Mille was launched in the late 90s.

Porsches for me. My history of Zuffenhausen products goes like this...

924
944 lux
928 s4
944 16v
964 c4
993 c4
993 turbo (arena red)
928 gts
996 turbo (seal grey)
993 turbo (midnight blue)
996 turbo (Arctic silver)
996 c4s

Also had a few M cars inc. Z4m, Z3m and CSL.

For bikes I have a Ducati Monster S4r. Previous were a Monster 600 dark, 748 bp and 916 strada.

Pleased to have now settled I to my GS as I think my car chopping and changing days are over. If anything, I can see an 80s biturbo or similar in my future. And one the Stradale gets within reach.........☺☺

I love all Italian Supercars: Ferrari, Lambourgini and Maserati.

I was shocked to discover that I could afford a Maserati.

Before this it was a Peugeot 405, a Fiesta and Mercedes CLK.

I am quite a fan of old Mercedes. The old SL's especially.

Hi Nikos, starting with the R107 and working backwards. The gullwing is probably my favourite.

928 gts

For bikes I have a Ducati Monster S4r. Previous were a Monster 600 dark, 748 bp and 916 strada.

I've always fancied a 928. I remember I thought they were a bit too rounded when they came out, particularly the back, but they've aged really well. That shape was very forward looking in the '70s.

I've only had a 600SS and my current 748 bp. Biking mates often ask when I'm going to change it but I don't see the need. It is plenty fast enough for my limited skills and I can't think of a better looking bike out there.

To answer the OP: Alfas.

The one I owned was ex-Porsche GB and wore the number THE 928S on many press articles. I know who has it if you're interested.........

Alfa I suppose for me, it was a natural progression I suppose.

Sure I liked a lot of exotic cars but I have only really looked at stuff I can afford.

Curious, I did own a Sud back in the mid 80's but I have had more Fiat than any other make by far... There is an Italian thing going on for sure.
