I love watches and am amazed at how stylish some of the 60s watches can be.Surprising what you can pick up for a few hundred quid. Much better than some of the over-priced modern stuff that seem to be around.

Excuse to post a picture of my restored 30 years old Seiko Chronograph, the worlds first quartz chronograph, and also the last Seiko watch worn by 007!

A lot of breitling now use a Japanese movement - apparently - pick of the bunch for me is a Chrono Avenger.

Very nice. I have an Aerospace that one of my ex bosses gave me. It is lovely. Hold their value stupidly well as well

Quality - like it!

My watchsmith took 4 months to restore it, sourcing all the bits required.
Can highly recommend Brian for any watch repairs or servicing, he changed and correctly pressure tested my TAG F1 kirium at a fraction of TAG prices at the same time.

My Seiko stopped working 20 years ago due to water damage and then a leaking battery, and consequently the total restoration cost far exceeded its value, but it was my 18th birthday present so the cost was irrelevant.
By all accounts the movement (all steel no plastic gears) and quartz accuracy (the bridge?) took the swiss watchmakers by surprise.

had mine about 7 years and I managed to get a TAG Heuer blue Monaco a few years ago just needs a service now.

That's one of my favourites in the Breitling range - came minutes from buying the skyland couple of years ago, yellow limited until common sense and it was the price of 2 holidays - still wish I had bought it!!!! Don't tell her indoors though.

I have the other F1 version of that one.....Needs a service now, a battery and the crown has come off....Not cheap to fix...

Just treated myself to one of these .....

ChristopherWard_C70-D-Type-Leather_Dial1.jpg

Christopher Ward announce the launch of the stunning C70 D-Type Limited Edition – celebrating the glory of Scotland's Ecurie Ecosse team of the 1950s and its remarkable success as the Jaguar D-Type dominated the track – and the record books – at Le Mans.

Sir William Lyons of the Jaguar Car Company designed the sleek and finely streamlined D-Type entirely with Le Mans in mind, and from 1955 to 1957 he was rewarded with an historic hat trick of victories there.

The design of the C70 D-Type chronograph is adapted from Christopher Ward's signature C70 Motorsport series and is an exceptional expression of British motoring heritage. Powered by an ETA 251.272, 22 jewel quartz movement and dressed resplendently in the Ecurie Ecosse team colours, the C70 D-Type carries the winning car's chassis number in the tachymeter and the car's registration on the side of the case.

However, it is the attention to detail of the dial where the Jaguar D-Type car's various instruments are captured in the chrono eyes and the radiator grille which has been faithfully reproduced to best capture the spirit of this most famous of Jaguar's racing legends. As a final stylish flourish, the car's signature centre-lock spinner has been faithfully reproduced in Christopher Ward's own signature three-dimensional deep stamped execution.

Limited to only 500 pieces worldwide, this tour de force of a watch celebrates Sir William's masterpiece in style and is certain to be the a highly desired collector's item in Christopher Ward's celebrated C70 Motorsport Series.

Very nice Phil. I'm a big fan of Christopher Ward, I bought a trident C60 a couple of years ago and if I'm good, I should be getting a ltd ed C7 red chromometer for Christmas from Nicola. My sister and mum are rocking CWs too, they're a quality watch at a very reasonable price

Your blue one looks stunning

Thanks Stuart, I fell in love with it when I saw it in a car mag. Plus with the love for the D Type and the nice touches I had to order it. Got a good deal on it with the usual codes so will be here tomorrow.
