Had a call from SEAT apologising for the late delivery of my new daily. I ordered it in late February was given ten weeks delivery time, ie late may, I picked it up in late July. They've sent me a £250 cheque. Which is 5 weeks hire and not to be sniffed at.

I have loved mine matt. With a few alterations they can look pretty stunning in my opinion and going for black with a pan sunroof etc I think is a good choice. There is little doubt in its class it's the best looking and does things well.
The white Evoque 'pure' is certainly school run mum- but in black with the right extras they look great.

Thanks Iain, some advice if you would.

Been looking at adding a small amount of trim to it, my biggest bug bear is the hideous grey plastic faux sump gaurd thingy that wraps round the rear bumper.

The bumper is also only half body painted but being black it does not really show.

The plan was to get some of these and have the bumpers and badges colour coded.

Wheels, not sure yet, may paint them gloss black but they will be a pain to keep clean.

Any other suggestions to make it look nicer?

Since we're on the subject of SUVs.... you can get a Volvo XC90 for under £360 a month at the moment. That's a 48 grand car. Not bad if you want a huge, very comfortable vehicle.

I can send photos of mine matt.
I only spent around £500 and everyone comments on how it looks.
I wrapped those plastic bits you mention - in Satin Black. Front and back cost around 100.
I wrapped another couple of bits, that I cant remember now. I will take photos when back from Eurodisney and post them.
Also - side steps. Made a massive difference in the aesthetic. Circa £200-250 for a decent pair. i will dig up where I got mine but been really happy with them.
I smoked the front, back and side lights. Other options are getting the black Range Rover Decals from Ebay. That's personal taste but looks good on some cars.
Interior wise there is not much to do. The Pan Sunroof IMO is the best option (Which you have) and get the TV option fitted + sky so you can watch sports whilst waiting for the kids/wife to get ready.
I managed to find some remarkably good carbon fibre paddle extenders from The Far East. I didn't mind wasting the £40 on them if they were **** , but amazed to see how good they are. More visual than functional as I don't use the Paddles much TBH, even in the petrol version, just use it for drop offs and pick ups and on the way to bums and tums.

My wife is currently preventing me from wrapping it satin black at the moment as she loves the grey.
So I spent it on the GTO grill for the cali instead!

Think its a great idea on the strad too. Very cost effective, reversible and been impressed with results.

Not sure matt - can you send a photo - is it different to mine?
Why would you want to take it off?

Here is it in white, easier to see the black trim:

The unpainted and textured trim is the lower half of the front and rear bumpers, door bottoms and over the arches.

This. in Spades.

Not as bad looking as the new Honda Civic or Discovery, both of which I find offensive.

That Discovery looks like a proper "special needs" vehicle. Whoever designed it, particularly the rear needs a good kicking. The Civic looks like a proper chav's car with all sorts of fussy angles and ****. New cars are slowly becoming ******* and *******!
