When I get back from Le Mans I'll have a word with our fabricator and see if he can make a couple up if you want. They should be easier to make than X-pipes.

Hi,

Assuming I've attached the pics correctly, this is a larini x-pipe fitted to my 4200 (about a month ago).

cheers

Hi Simon,

Standard rear boxes, couldn't really justify the £1,500 or so for Larini's there (yet).

Noise is slightly lower than pre x-pipe . . from a more noticeable burble at tick over - turning into a crackle/rasp at about 4,300-4,400 rpm & above.

Under load I'm told it sounds a lot better, but as I'm not prone to letting anyone else drive it .... I can't tell how much better/different it is whilst in the pilots seat.

cheers

Colb when you say lower, you mean deeper..!?

I am so close to biting the bullet and getting a Larini H-pipe - still just slightly hesitant that the volume will be too much a-la X-pipe.. it's the deeper bassier sound I'm after, not extra volume and not more popping&spitting on the overrun (already enough of that with the current Larini rears).
