High pitched whine at motorway speed on 4200 Manual

Funnily enough I've got Series 2 landie with just that same problem, can't believe it could really be the same. I'll get it checked when the clutch is checked / replaced.

    4200 Key issues

Thanks for the suggestions, in the end, I managed to fix the problem by following these instructions (the full press 16 times reset), thought I'd post it here for future searchers: Taken from: http://www.maseratiforum.co.uk/Spare_Key_Reprogramming/m_53014/tm.htm "Does your spare key, one of 2...

High pitched whine at motorway speed on 4200 Manual

Hi, 2nd "new car teething troubles" post (see key issues post)! At motorway speeds, I can hear a high pitched whine coming from around the gear lever area. Sounds most like a bearing in the process of failing. The clutch is also near the top of it's travel, which I'm sure means it'll need a...

    4200 Key issues

Hi all, Picked up a 4200 a few days ago, loving it so far :) I'm having some issues with the keys however, or rather the remote central locking / boot opening switches. I've replaced the batteries in both with no improvement. One works some of the time, but not all. I can feel the...

    Best quick 7 seater estate/SUV?

My daily driver is a 2006 7 seater Merc E55 estate. Just had a smaller supercharger pulley and a remap done to leave it with about 570bhp. does 23mpg on the motorway at sensible "slightly quicker" than average motorway speeds. Cost me about 11k 2 years ago, now has 140k on the clock, looks like...

    Independent maserati specialists

Hi looking at a 4200 manual for sale in Cardiff (not the Richard Williams one, thats a shed!) I'd ideally like to find someone to do an inspection prior to committing. Anyone know of a specialist vaguely in that area?

Traded in for 8k, now at...

I went and looked at it a couple of weeks ago. Looked pretty tired, there were plenty of things that would need doing, none of which he wanted anything to do with - from memory - Seats wouldn't move forward / back, reversing sensors didn't work, windows didn't drop on opening, AC didn't work and...

    4200 manual gearchange

Well that is strong advice, and I will take it. phone call will be made. So, any idea what changed (excluding obvious interior and wheels) after the '05 facelift?

    4200 manual gearchange

I absolutely loved the 3200GT. Sold a 10 month old shiney new M5 for the shiney new 3200 because it was just so much MORE. Metallic black, pale grey interior with black piping. Many adventures to Le Mans, Nurburgring and Monaco, amongst other places. Best car I ever owned. Sounded like an...

    4200 manual gearchange

OK, so as I thought, should not be like wrestling a 1976 Dumper Truck into gear on a frosty morning. Has anyone here ever had the cables adjusted?

    4200 manual gearchange

Nice shout on the PK Supercars front, that does look very nice. Any idea if any of the changes post facelift (05) were significant? From reading about a bit, it seems like some of the Gransport suspension and steering changes were filtered through to the regular model, although mainly comments...

    4200 manual gearchange

Hi all, been lurking around here for a little while, I'm an ex 3200 owner back in the early part of the century (which I loved), finally decided to swap the current toy (Caterham) for a 4200 for some extra seat goodness and to get back to Maser. I went and drove a 4200 manual today, which...
