great thanks for your help. Would you recommend a different pad? I would like to improve the feel and consistency and whilst this may be affected by the front discs/pads etc I would welcome any suggestions for the rear too. Cheers

I agree the brakes aren't the best on the QP but I'm sure most people would weigh up the best value options before deciding which way to go
For anyone else needing to remove this panel it is necessary to pull the dash cover adjacent to driver door to get to the screws. The screw between the steering column on LHS is most tricky. Using an alan key and half turn a time took a while.....

After some searching I've got a 4.7QP S Nov 2009. Engine number is post variator, one owner, 43k miles, FSH and in dark green.
First impressions are how well put together it feels. No rattles, comfortable and smooth which is what I was looking for.
