This isn’t the first Coronavirus to hit us and it certainly won’t be the last. What happens if the next one is worse? What then? We won’t be in a position to do anything about it because most of the small businesses, airlines, airports, bars, restaurants will have already shut down. Who'll foot the bill then? We seem to have gone ‘all-in’ on this one and left nothing for a rainy day. The first casualties of the next lock-down should be SAGE; the protected elite who won’t lose their jobs, face furlough or pay cuts and, when it’s over will get promoted and knighthoods. Those fckers are out of touch with reality and are always looking at the worst case scenario. Johnson should say “fck it, lets get on with life and see what happens”. If he did, he’d win the next election because he’s given people their freedom back. I know he took it away, but he had to due to the pressure put on him by SAGE and press leaks.

This is a great point as well. It is like going to a casino with every penny you have and more. You have a bad night and have lost it all and more. What next?! Sledgehammer.....walnut.

For me I'm not convinced there is enough data to suggest a mask is doing enough to be such a reliant high profile part of defense against this virus. It is a certainly good and a worthwhile beneficial tool but it isn't going to change the affects dramatically in some scenarios. I do wear a mask where/when asked and adhere as am a decent compliant member of society. I think it make senses to stop people spreading an airborne virus easily through reducing the affects of coughing and sneezing spread. More than that I am less sure as the benefits reduce massively after this IMHO.

However why aren't masks made compulsory at other times of high breakouts of other airborne viruses say a seasonal flu that has killed more before, still does and will still do so in the future. It is contradictory is this regard.

One thing of have noticed in myself and I say this as a pretty strong character of mind, body, soul and decent enough physical health. I am finding it very hard now to stay motivated to do all the extra things I have always done. I have always worked hard, grafted and taken risks in an entrepreneurial way as a small business. Always done the extra 10%, always gone that extra mile, always tried to achieve more and push on. However I have starting to feel lately......what is the point?! For me to say that and start to feel that a little says a fair bit IMHO.

I am not saying I am giving up and far from it but the amount of difficulty also adversity we now are faced with to get over as a small business is very tough. The risks are starting to outweigh the benefits if we are not careful. If many small businesses and owners start feeling the same way then as a country we are screwed. Innovation and competition to me from small business in the UK is what makes the difference. Take that away and just have massive inefficient big business that turn like the Titanic and I feel this leads a downward spiral that could end up badly.

Here in France outside of your home from the age of 6 masks are compulsory with a first fine of €135.
Sad to see some people find it difficult to wear them properly too.
I worry for the future generations who will be paying for all this so we really need to beat this virus asap.

That's my point with the masks, if you had to wear a proper partially moulded mask to cover up properly would surely be a benefit

For me a national nonstrategic lock down is like hiding the virus away in a cupboard for a bit. It is still there unless you lock it away until it is gone....completely. If it hasn't gone and you open the cupboard it comes back again.

If the mask wearing is not being adhered to and the govt or medical community feel it is required/useful then make it compulsory and fine people for not wearing them. Simple. Clear concise and no room for interpretation or confusion. KISS. Many people need to be told clearly and concisely or face the consequences.

It is massively contradictory to hand people the money they will use to pay a fine! So much contradiction and a lack of clear also concise information for me. Stop d1cking around and deal with it. Stop tickling it.

Wake up! You won’t beat a virus. The common cold has been around since time immemorial and there still isn’t a cure for it. All lock-down will do is delay the inevitable and draw this fiasco out to the detriment of the future economy. The whole of Europe should just say ‘f*ck it’ and get back to normal. If 1, 2 or even 3 million die that’s the way it will have to be. The vast majority will die anyway so there’s no reason to sacrifice the world economy for them.

I really hope he sacks the SAGE mob and starts using common sense. If he doesn’t, we are f*cked for decades to come.
