When the resistor goes, you loose the low speed fans. The high speed only comes in at high temps. My advice is to make a male-male jumper to bypass the resistor in an emergency. The fans will operate at high speed only, but come on at the lower temp.

The screw latch has flats on it so that you can get a wrench (spanner for you lot) on it to "clock" it for disengagement. IIRC it has a slip clutch that allows it to be adjusted for release.

Beautiful car, and welcome to the group! You have, as we have said many times before, found one of the best kept secrets in the automotive world. A 4200 Spyder is not for everyone, but for those of us who love them, few cars are as thrilling as these. I think 13 years of Spyder ownership...

As an old motorhead and engineer, I have long been enamored with good design. The 4200 engine is an absolute jewel. Take a look at the camshafts for instance, they have counter balance weights between the cam lobes!

Yes F430 flywheels interchange, contact @DLax69 , Dennis knows a guy with 2. Might be pricey from the US, but if needs be....

I'll try to help you out here, Tubis are the BOMB for a 4200. I would not drive my Spyder without them! If you don't have them, you need them. The sound is incredible.

Zep, I agree on wheel adapters, but if the only way to keep a car on the road is to use other hub bearings, so be it. Lots of guys have spacers on their wheels, an adapter isn't much worse. And yes, 2002 have a different resistance for the speed sensor.

Matt, I'm glad that you got a refund on those bearings from NY. The bearings for 4200s are the same as Ferrari 360/ 430 and are interchangeable and still available. I've never worked on a GT/QP, but could someone check and see if the hub carrier bolt pattern is the same? If so, use a 4200/...

Just a wild hare, but thought that this beauty could use a bit of Victory Blue wrap accents ala MC12... I wouldn't want to permanently change the look of the car, but a little wrap, and with that interior, it would be stunning.
