Just wondering where the 2 year old turismo owners aspire to now , do they intend to stay with the marque and aspire to the MC Shift or is to pastures new , or are they content to wait for the next new model

I must admit that if I had a GS like you loz I would even consider having a DB9 for two years until the GTS comes down in price, Aston is 10k cheaper.....I will get some stick for saying it but the GT is too expensive for what it is although everyone says it is going to drop it still has not moved in price even in the worst recession ever!

The GT's (of whatever type) are very desirable (lets be honest they look stunning) and highly sought after by the trade. Residuals will remain high and will not follow previous models downward plunge.....

...seems to be...as Maserati racked up the price and improved the GT...so too did the interest and those wanting to buy them.....we might be disappointed for a while longer, 4200/GS best value Maseratis ever....and they might have been the last of them!

I do think Loz.......the final re-incarnation of the 3200/4200 series in the form of the GS, may well be, pound for pound, the best value Maserati ever to turn a wheel and the best GT/sporty type Maserati too.

Certainly by adding a few up-grades, it becomes a wonderfully competent and satisfying car to own.

For myself I do think the GT prices will drop as they come out of warranty and finance. This was a successful car for Maserati, and sold well, so for all those owners who only run warranted cars, or for those on balloon payments, they'll be both be looking to sell, which could well bring a glut onto the market.

Yes they're desirable to the trade, but at the end of the day they need to move their stock, and as we all know, owning a Trident isn't for the faint-hearted, so it'll be a buyers market, not a sellers.

You're right P, but I said they will drop, I didn't say they have already. There will be quite an additional number hitting the used market throughout 2012, which for me will follow the usual cycle where the back pressure of newer cars hitting the market will force the older ones down in price.

.....have been stuck around the 50K mark for last 6 mths Miles..........just wondering when they will drop......plus the fact they sold far more GTs than 4200s/GSs over a similar 4/5 yr period......

I can't imagine I'm sticking my neck out too far to say the end of 2012 will see them 10 to 15 percent less than they are now?

Not sure whether it was Parkers or Which Magazine but the Granturismo was voted one of the best buys for keeping its value. Personally, I am sticking with Gransport until I can have the Granturismo S.

Thats what I thought would happen when the 1st 2007 cars came on the market......It didn't....they didn't drop but stayed high. They came on at around £54K in October and didn't really drop (in fact they were moving very quickly) I gave up iwaiting in the end and decided if I really wanted one I would have to pay the price!

Not so sure...Some seem to be holding out for the GT S as the GT was a bit dissappointing after the GS as far as performance was concerned. OK build quality is much improved.....My friend in the trade had a GT up for 8 months which never sold and it wasn't the most expensive for sale. In the end the guy he was selling it for took it off the market.....If the look in the classifieds its the same GT's that are still for sale week in week out...............................

Mixed views and perceptions..................but we are clear....they are stubbornly sticking a the higher end of the residuals.......bugger the wait for the GTS....DMS the GT...stick a big brake set on her...and maybe the Larinis....:)

Dont wait until end of next year when you can have all the fun....in the autumn of this year!!!!

Dem, the thread is; 2 year old GT owners. Safrane intimated that the owners are 2 years old, not the cars, and he had only just learnt to walk by the age of 2. A pithy play on words but amusing nevertheless!
