When I saw this thread, I thought someone had just changed the title of last years one!
The BMI this is just rubbish, it's an 'average', average doesn't take into consideration the various shapes and sizes.
At 26 when I played semi pro football, was fit as a fiddle, played football 5 times a week and went to the gym 4 to 5 times I was classed just a % or 2 below being morbidly obese when I had never been in better shape. (obviously that's a long time ago now- 20 years!
)
My plan to lose the excess timber this year is to do more cycling, went out on my bike on the 30th December and did a quick 18.5 miles and was surprised that I wasn't blowing out of my ar5e!
However, I am nowhere near where I was before I was in hospital in September.
I'm doing the Loch Ness Etape in April (a hilly 66 miles) so will need to get my fitness levels up quite a bit, but what it does mean is that cycling training starts, er now, as opposed to April when I would normally start.
As for drinking and eating less, I doubt that will happen, the way at I look at it is if you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight.
Just need to do more exercise.
