I think it depends if the turbos are model specific or generic (like Garretts). If you have to get spare seals and bearings through Maserati then I am pretty sure they will be a bit on the pricey side but, if they are for a Garrett, pretty much any turbo builder will have them in. Personally, if I had a 3200, I would make sure I had hybrid Garretts fitted.

...until the turbo seals fail.

Never heard of this being a particular problem on the 3200.

I think there's a lot of rubbish posted about the 3200, often by those that have never owned one...doesn't help the Maserati marque one bit. I've got a 3200 and a 4200.... the 3200 has been faultless! Of course they suffer from neglect - and can cost a lot to fix if the previous owner has let things slip. There are an increasing number of cheaper maintenance solutions due in no small part to this forum (like the brakes) that make ownership a much less fraught experience. There are also an increasing number being broken, so there are more second hand options than there perhaps were a few years ago.

If an inspection gave this 109k mile 3200 a clear bill of health it could be a cracking car - looks good, and is only priced a couple of £k over 3200 scrap value.

I don't think it's a particular problem either but they will go eventually. When depends on how they have been warmed up and cooled down after spirited use. Less of a problem these days but if the oil is allowed to sit on a red hot turbo shaft the oil can carbon up and eventually block the oilways leading to bearing failure. Same with any turbo so not a problem that damages the marque. And you are right, at £7K it is cracking value. Well worth a look IMO.

One of our Spanish members had to replace his turbos....not sure why...OEMS a horrific price.....but the same sourced like the brakes were a lot less......everything will wear out/break over time, its just hoping them don't do it all at once or with regularity!!

Agree Nig, if an inspection comes up trumps this could be a complete bargain.......My 3200 never gave me any problems either......
