But guys , where's the earner......................... laying out £13K and doing some labour yourself just to have the possibility of making say £2-3K ...... that aint good business in my book, i'd rather work for a living with no outlay

Guy's I told David about this car last week. It's an existing customer of his so I hope he can either help with parts to get it sorted or save it himself. He has an Ac so has a soft spot for them.

I hope someone buys it to save it...Such a rare car it would be a shame to loose it to parts...

It's an auto too - so not for me even as a toy. I know I don't need another toy, but that's besides the point.

I've emailed the guy but had no response at all.

Could be just the thing I'm looking for, I like a project and learned so much from my previous 3200 ownership that this doesn't scare me at all.

I've already spoken to him (which is how I know it's an auto). If you PM me your email address I can pass on some info if that helps?

MAF I know a good engine rebuilders for the 3200 lump, crank, shells, chains, heads etc, £2k

I am sure they would strip is down and inspect it FOC to see if its scrap.

The shell bearing on the 3200 are silly money!

Worth bearing in mind that a rebuild would be the best plan if possible, as a replacement engine will significantly affect the value of the car. A good way to potentially get a cheap car, but taking risk into account, not a money spinner...as Loz says.

£7k would be a good price, whip the engine out yourself, send it off for rebuild, drop it back in, all done without a cat for £10k, makes sense to me.

I did it once before with the 3200 when the crank endfloat ruined my Xmas!

I actually enjoyed getting my teeth into a decent project.

The hardest part was getting the gearbox linkage off as I was on my back on the floor, it was a right booger!
