That's ridiculous, all that work and money, only to find that a fuse had blown....who were the so called experts looking in to this again...???

They should really be shot...first thing you do is to check the fuses!! tell em they can stuff the £300 or you'll make a fuss
they're not capable of common sense diagnosis!!....... Rob Grimaldi knows these cars inside out, maybe his on holiday and one of his oppos worked on your car

I paid £120 to get it transported to grimaldi ( rob was there ) and i gave them the go ahead to spend 2 hours to investigate and see where we were, 2 hours later i was told it was possibly the ecu, £1200, at this point i said unless i know a upfront cost to get it running then its not something i can do, he said he couldn't be sure it was the ecu, so i got it collected back, another £100.

It sat untouched until today when at quarter to 5 ( we finish work at 5) my boss said did they defiantly check all the fuses, and i said well i would assume so! And he went out and started to check. Them, no longer than 2 mins later it was running, rather gutted! But happy now, been out in it all evening :)

I would definitely check all the fuses. not just for blown links but poor seating, as i had problems especially with the ones under the passenger footwell coming out when the car hit bumps.

Davy you megastar, well diagnosed, you need to get a new day job fixing Maserati's.

So Beau, pay them for the 2 mins "work" and ask for the remainder back...I think thats fair!

Only just got home ! Lol lots of driving & 1 police incident :p love the car! :)

And it is annoying about it, but im sure what they did was in there best intentions and as said, should defiantly start with simple things first!

Happy days Beau....unfortunately, they do need extra and ongoing care, above and beyond servicing and maintenance....always spending on them once they get over a certain years and miles

Happy it's worked out Beau, but this is incredibly frustrating.

We've seen two stories here of "ECU replacement" being the diagnosis when in both cases it was something extremely simple - a sheared wire and a blown fuse.

ECU's are extremely expensive bits of kit and should be a last resort type fix.

Goes to show that finding a decent Auto Electrician is extremely important with issues like this.

Given their widely known electrical fraility, surely each and every time they have a problem its the first thing that comes into your head??!!

If you have the LED Fuses fitted, it takes seconds the check each fuse box for a lit up fuse, then simply replace it, or fix the fault and replace it. I'm afraid I would have a lot more to say to the experts involved and expect a gesture of good will for not doing the diagnosis correctly..??

I have to agree. I would certainly be discussing this with them.

what number or location was the fuse?
In the boot or under bonnet?

It was a ******* fuse!! Yes a bloody stupid 30 amp fuse, a month and £300 spent for a 7p fuse, ah well, all fixed and running now!! It was one under the little cover offside wing

Had a good check of all my fuses, which were intact. It did lead me to a solution anyway, using the red key!

Also got around to fixing the fuse for the horn! #TootToot Thanks :D
