They tried this stunt a while back with the bikes...Everything in the drive train...which means motor ( power output to tyres..! ( The concern was a difference in circumference FFS )
They have ignored alternative braking systems to ABS that manufacturers have spent millions developing and insisted that little bikes are fitted with expensive and complicated ABS instead...It was total EU bollox at the time..Seems like Brexit has done nothing to stop the uninformed, overpaid political class from putting their cross in the box that pays best...!?
Following it's withdrawal, they started on the so-called "Super MOT"...meaning bikes would have to satisfy similar tests to type approval standards in the test every two years...( basically be as it was when sold)
Bikes are also currently under the same proposals- detail is "thin in the ground' to put it politely...!
Never say never- the Germans have TUV testing. No idea how it affects cars but bikers have to go to great lengths to get mods approved...every time it comes up.
The French changed the law so all bikes are 100HP or less. It cost their MC industry dear. They continue to insist that people on older bikes arent allowed access to Paris for example..better to sit alone, in a 4 seater, clog the streets, and spew their emissions from a worse alternative....!
F*cking bureaucrats....
MAG remains opposed to vehicle anti-tampering proposals despite a recent clarification of the Government’s intentions.
