Hi @Gooner cheers.

The interior is already essentially dismantled unless you mean further work needed to install reversing camera etc

Just sorting out the stupidly price extension cable, I'm assuming I need the same one even though it doesn't state EVO64DAB.

I haven't sorted a bezel yet, just ordered the head unit as it seemed a good price. I wanted to keep it stock, but my info screen is badly beaten up. Ive attached a pic showing the damage and the actual screen is damaged aswell.

So I need to sort the extension cable (CD-RGB150E I think).

A hazard switch / wiring for background lights

Potentially a reversing camera?

And a bezel.

All help truly appreciated.

Nick

…and the buck converter mentioned in post 197 of this thread, to deliver the 7V for the backlights. I must admit I still haven’t installed my reversing camera.

I've purchased a micro dc-dc buck converter off ebay, a dab aerial splitter and a iso to din converter.

Looking at hazard switches now.

(Gone for this one)

Re the bezel, is someone possibly able to forward me the CAD file from Edwin247? Does it need to be adjusted for a pioneer unit?

Thanks all :)

Hazard switch, iso to din and dab splitter have arrived, pioneer on its way, extortionately priced cable soon on its way....

Need to get the bezel underway now.

Whilst sorting through the cables that plug into the NIT, I found a grounding cable that was not connected to anything. Any ideas?

Hmmm. As these wiring harnesses had several lives...and the cars had some differing options...and lawd knows what a previous owner may have connected/disconnnected...it may not even have a destination.

Reverse box reconnected and all good (phew).

Great to start her up again.

Only thing I noticed was the xenons won't come on (bulb failure light), I'm assuming it's because I've not connected up the new head unit etc

I've not been tampering with anything else!

Finally got round to trying to hook connections up to the car and bingo, it works.

Sounds pretty good too, with the dab signal absolutely fine (touchwood).

Going to wire up the hazard switch and buck converter tomorrow (he hopes).

Oh and my headlights now work, so as I assumed it was because things were disconnected.

So I can get the hazards flashing without the red triangle on the switch illuminated, or the hazards flashing with the triangle permanently illuminated, I can't get it so it illuminates ONLY when the switch is engaged .... losing my mind lol

Any ideas?

As soon as i attach the red to the pin 1 wire, the light is permanently illuminated.

Cheers

You're only going to be using 4 wires to the switch I think.

Bridge red and blue and connect to the flasher. Black and negative of the flasher is to ground. Green goes to 12v. Yellow is unused.

@Felonious Crud knock yourself out.... ;)

So you want live to the Common (green) output to the hazards on the normally open (blue) then connect the blue wire to the car to get the hazards flashing and also to the red wire to power the LED. Then you need a ground to the Black wire.

Edit: inexplicably, what the Cat said.

So in stupid person speak, connect red blue and green to pin1 (grey black wire) and obviously the black to ground?

Gcse electronics obviously stood me in good stead lol

Pin 1 on what? The relay or the switch? But I don't think so. You don't want red, blue and green connected to each other.

I suspect @Zep knows the cable colours to the flasher relay which may be an easier way of doing it.
