Ronan,
That's a lovely example you lucky man, I think the colour combination is excellent, the whole thing looks the dogs..........
I don't know what the earlier 4200's were like, but the one I have just obtained which is the facelift, has excellent acceleration and handling in Sport. I need some new rear boots so mine is tail happy at the moment, but general impression is very good.
Enjoy your new wheels mate, looks superb!!!
Cheers

Dem,
Went for a spin in the 4200 today with Lady Stig, she likes it. How does it compare to the 3200AC?? Well after I had the 4200 sideways, I checked the tyres and pressures. The guy I bought it off must have a lousy garage, or never checked his pressure, they were very low and all over the place. I make no wonder the car was dancing around. Anyhow, after sorting that out, we took her on about a 50 mile trip, mainly motorway, but side roads too. The car is more or less rock solid on most roads, unless you push too ******* bends then it skips, like they all do? Minor roads it is about the same as the 3200 in most respects, apart from acceleration is more progressive and does not have the sudden manic reaction when the turbo's kicck in. The 4200 is slightly faster, but not much and feels very stable at 130/140mph. I had a play with a Fiat Coupe for a short while, but he could not stay with me and on the return trip a number of highly tuned Toyota's and maybe Honda's I think they were, coming back from a show I think. Usual toned exhausts, immaculate finish, but not quite as fast as me??
Cheers

We are keeping our AC Dem, it's a great drive and only very slightly slower than the 4200. If kept in good nick I think it will appreciate, as more of the older ones get written off, or blow up due to poor maintenance. I think the difference is the turbo lag, the 4200 has already got a head start before the 3200 turbos's kick in, but then the 3200 acceleration is just as good. The CC paddles take some getting used to, but the gearbox is forgiving and will change up on it's own if you red line it, even in manual. In sport mode the changes are lightening quick.

I think you might be surprised, I think they will appreciate a bit faster than that, specifically the AC, as there were not that many made!!

Not far wrong there Robert....Its a desirable car but needs a few more years yet for the classic collectors to catch on..

This year in the UK there are around 26 Manuals and around 17 Automatic AC's left around, that's just over 40 cars, how rare is that??? It's going down every year!!

Still think it will be a while yet before they start to get snaped up though Robert...They are still a difficult car to sell on the used car market......Goods ones are up for 20k but thats late faced lift 4200 or QP money and no matter what we think on here about the AC punters still see the car as less reliable than the QP or 4200 no matter if it is or not. If you are sending that sort of money you can get a 7 year old Maserati or a 11 year old 3200.............................Just look at poor old Pibbows AC...Probably one of the best examples but has been for sale for a long time......Saying that the red one at ADG has now sold....

I love the AC so please don't think I'm putting it down.............I think our friends in Ozz realise what a great car ir is as it seems they are snaping them up but for this country I think we need a few more years yet before it becomes a collectors item where you can ask 20k plus and get it at the drop of a hat......At the moment its about sitting tight and I'm sure the right buyer will come along within time.

The silver one's only been for sale for 5 weeks, most cars take a while to sell. I'm surprised the red car sold without them viewing this one. It's in just as good, if not better condition than plenty 2008-09 cars. Everyone who's looked at the other cars I've sold recently has been amazed at how good it is. Someone who's prepared to pay for a top-notch example will not be disappointed.
