Something very special about these little cars.......A piece of Italian history and what the Italians do best...Infact they are great at both ends of the scale, small cars and suoercars...**** in the middle....

A nice Fiat 127 Sport if you can find one they were brilliant in orange or black and the 127 was car of the year one year back in the 70's.

I had one of these (sadly no pictures, hence it missing from my other post). It was silver and rust, but I got it for free from a work colleague as it was a non-runner. A bit of fettling and it was back to health. 70bhp from a 1050cc engine in a car which weighed nothing - very grin-inducing! I followed it up a couple of years later with a Fiat 127 1300GT, later version of the car with a slightly bigger engine (& only 5bhp more) and a 5-speed gearbox. It was quick enough to beat the XR3 (not XR3i) of the day, something I used to do regularly!

Wasn't there a Ferrari engined 127? I seem to remember there was a totally bonkers version....

Sadly I ended up with the Regata saloon (first of the woeful front wheel drive ones using the 127 body)...
