Love my 2001 Busso 916 Spider, complete with obligatory loud Wizzard Exhaust, sounds fantastic and no drone!

The Busso really is a delight, pulls without complaint from 1500 RPM in 6th, yet zings to the 7000rpm limiter sounding great in the process.

A few upgrades such as a short shift kit, Koni Sport dampeners, strut brace, GTA flywheel etc have made it slightly better to drive.

It's a bit **** technically, but it's one of the most fun car's I've had and is brimming with character and looks great with the top down.

For me the PH2 is the best looking....
Sounds like your days are numbered with that loud exhaust, according to Jeremy Vine on he's lunch time show today
Then there's the tampering legislation on the horizon!

Can you get an ev to buzz loudly? And if you put a massive 100db stereo on the back of a bike can you trip the cameras

A friend had one from new. Loads of issues and have it back in the end. Not massive issues but like you dash lights and a shed load of electrical issues. Silly things like the windscreen wipers worked one day and not the next and they never could fix it….

Quite a common issue not just with the Alfa, my mate who had a 20V Turbo Fiat Coupe was just given a bag of spare fuses from the dealer.
My own Alfa 146Ti went haywire electrically at the end unfortunately.

He had a 156 before the 159 and said that was better build and more reliable than the 159….When I say better build I mean by Italian standards…. ;-)

Getting back to the 916 , watch for bouncing locks, and door card damage from catching the seatbelt, slightly less so in the spider as the seat clip seemed to help.

Yes. Weirdly some have those and some don't, unless seats have been changed to gtv model of course.
Just had to have strad repaired for exactly the same prior yo my ownership.

I have a full set of new disk rotors going spare - left from the TS but I think they also fit the GTV. Anyone want them before they become church bell headstocks?

I had a 916 spider bought in exeter for 750. Drove it all the way to Liverpool, on the boat to Ireland and drove up through Ireland to my place on the north coast. Not an ounce of bother, no rust but the foot wells had a cm of sand in them. Got it home gave a mega clean and got the variator and timing done and polybushed the rear sub frame as this is a failure point. Also bought a new toothed wheel necessary for the power soft top. Somebody had used a rattle can of the cars colour on the control panel, so I took it out as well as other pieces and hydro dipped it in glossy carbon. Not an ounce of trouble, even gave the front fogs a buff to get rid of opaque finish that life on the south coast had left it with.. hind sight is 20/20 and I should have kept that wee motor

Lovely colour. Don't want red as I know how they fade differently between metal and plastics. Silver doesn't suit, want a change from black so green or blue it is.

Oh forgot to mention get 18’s some wheel spacers and lowering springs. You’ll notice mine looks a lot beefier compared to standard. Boo hoo again!
