They also seem to be very uncaring to strangers, I was flicking through some dashcam videos on facebook , one showed a woman hit on a zebra crossing , she got launched but probably survived the initial impact .

The rest crossing the road just carried on , the driver sped off into the distance , a couple of cars stopped and had a look out of the window at her then carried on , pedestrians stood watching until about a minute after the initial impact a truck ran her over and killed her.

I can't imagine that ever happening in europe or the US
My experience down here is not positive. Generally very rude with the nasty habit of howking up in most situations.
The theme parks bring out the worst. Stood in a queue, don't bother, they will just walk past in droves and pile down the front.......knocking kids etc out the way. I had to physically grab one by the scruff of the neck after waiting in line to get close to a kangaroo with the little un. The 40 something literally appeared from no where and just stood in front of us camera in hand- then I removed him.
Someone once told me "never trust anyone you can blindfold with a shoelace".

So back to the real world today
I have to get a bus to the station - I am bombarded every second of the way with messages from TFL about how I shouldn’t be here unless it’s absolutely essential.
I wait 20 minutes for a train to London Bridge from East Croydon - it’s virtually empty, 12 coaches but probably about 60 people get off at London Bridge - I walk to Moorgate to work, only building sites are own in The City, and not all of them either.
I have a meeting (via Teams) to discuss the new program of work our boss wants to issue - before Easter we were 3 weeks behind with 9 weeks left we have been back on site for 3 weeks at 60% manning with the partitioners (the main cause of the delay) at 40% pre lock down
So the new program gives us 7 weeks from next Monday. WTF? So we now have to do more work in less time with less people and apply all the Covid -19 restrictions which means double shifts, weekends and late working
All with a 20% pay cut
I can’t live on £2500 a month so I have no choice - I like my job but I am starting to loose respect for my employer who is clearly thinking about their pocket

Sounds a lot like us. Furloughed 6 guys, brought 3 back after 3 weeks. When will the planning be finished. Well let’s see. Half the staff. Double the time and then some. Don’t want that. Work over. Er....no thanks. Not on single time.

I imagine there will be punishing clauses in the contracts for finishing the projects late, so everyone is between a rock and a hard place.

You have to think a little outside the box , your employer is telling you waht he needs and expects ( inside he knows it wont happen but cant let you know that) he's probably banking on 60/70% of what he's asked for , Just make him aware that you will strive to make it happen but its probably unlikely .............he will know that .......he will also not want the guys to slacken off due the the virus thing being an easy excuse to miss targets ...................................................on the penalty clause we discussed some weeks ago ...................no court in this land will hold that up so try and relax a little mate

Yes it’s tough, very hard to make a point without being too negative. trying to keep the social distancing on a small congested site, it’s only 12500 sq feet, very cellularised. I just hope we don’t over sell and under achieve. Our client are lawyers so you can guess who would win in an arguement!

Think I might go to the doctor's today , seeing as they announced over the weekend that the stats have officially shown that smokers have a profound resistance to CV , given that I think my doctor will advise me to up the intake to 40 a day and give me a prescription for a couple of cartons , worth a try do you reckon ,

Well my brother has smoked from the age of 13 to 63 and has and continues to drink like a fish...yet at 66 years old he seems as fit as a fiddle. Nuts....
