Brain scans show that when a person hears information that disproves a belief of theirs, instead of their brain's cognitive centres lighting up, the emotional centres become active instead.

This means that our first instinct on hearing information that disproves our own beliefs is to rally our defences against that new information.

I wonder why this and the Brexit thread came to mind when I heard that snippet of information. :)

The human brain is a fascinating thing.

I think you may find it’s spread by both. It’s aerosolised virus. If you watch a sneeze on slow frame photography... you would never leave the house again....

Hmm, when I wrote that it seemed that there was a different consensus so you may be correct

Do I remember correctly that a sneeze can travel the length of a tube carriage? Well, it would if there weren't always some helpful humans to impede or progress.

Apparently they’re sending the Brits that need quarantine to Milton Keynes, no escape from there!

I'm curious as to what's in it

Mostly all ex military stuff, including my S10 Respirator, think the canister may be out of date tho....
When in Germany you had to have your “bug out” kit ready to go....As I’m a little paranoid we do have a rolling stock of supplies in our outside room. No bunker tho.....although I do have a few gas bottles and a little Honda 240v generator....

And the sad fact (IMHO) is that this is what the world needs, there are too many people on this earth, the population is rapidly expanding, and we only have finite resources, more of us living longer consuming more, this is the real cause of climate change.

7.8bn people on this planet and counting....forecast is over 10bn by 2050!
(in just 30 years time ....unreal). A planet which cannot even sustain what we have now let alone adding another 2bn people to an already insurmountable problem. So perhaps this is natural selection at work again?

Yeah, I basically have never emptied my Bergen. Sad I know. Thing is now I’m getting old and knackered I wouldn’t get far with it on my back.....but some things are handy,
Had a bbq, poured down, got my poncho and bungees out and 5 minutes later I had a rain canopy....got a photo somewhere.....
Wasn’t joking about the food and bottled water supplies tho....

Ha, bungees and ponchos, do you reckon they still get taught that stuff?

If they do, wonder whether there’s still stock of West German ones.
