Thanks all
Only thing I am considering is putting a quick private sale up in the usual places before giving Collecting Cars the go ahead.
What would you do as a potential buyer if you had the option to buy the car private at say £24k or buy on Collecting Cars for the auction price plus the 6% buyers premium?
Thanks all

Thanks Richard. Just replied.Hello Dean,
Hope all is well with you.
I'm brand new of the forum, have just sent you a private message.

I'd agree with the Collecting Cars option offering no addition protection over a private sale. Make sense for the seller with no fees but I guess less so for the buyer once the fees are added. Seems like a better option for the seller though as the additional marketing might give it more exposure. For a buyer, Collectingcars gives no additional protection...it’s still a private sale, like buying on eBay. All it really offers is seller benefit in terms of advert traffic and a bit of competitive bidding.
Are you on the V8/V12 Vantage Facebook group? It’s pretty active and quite a few people seem to be looking.... worth putting it on there?

Thanks for the recommendation to try the FB group as I will look into that. I'm not active on FB really but do have an account.

Ha! It's one of those funny life moments, I've been looking at 3200GT's and V8 Vantages. I suppose I should rush to the AM forum to find a lovely Maserati. You sign up to a Maserati forum and immediately go sniffing after an Aston! Cheek!

Many thanks for the welcome!
You'll find many on here who swing both ways. So to speak.

Technically you swung one way then the other. Both ways at the same time.....who would do something silly like thatYou'll find many on here who swing both ways. So to speak.

How big was your crevice out of interest?True. I had the good sense of a small gap in between, for decency's sake.

Dean, what are you doing...
You've missed out on one of the greatest sounds of your automotive owning life!
My V8 Aston was louder and at times more meaty sounding than my V10 Lambo. It was just brilliant
Put some 200cell cats on it, enjoy, then remove and sell - at the very least.
A taste of what you were missing (microphone was on boot lid)
Little lift off pop at 5 secs, before great sound and overrun burbles... oh, I just had a moment.
