Bora if you want to drive it. Mistral (that is, the Due Posti) if you want to keep it as a collector's car.

Andrew

Both the Mistral and 428 were styled by Frua although the latter gets most interest primarily due to its powerplant, and AC values have gone into orbit of late. I very much doubt that you would find a good 428 for £38k nowadays.

Been looking at classic maserati lately and am thinking that for £40k these cars are a seriously good investment, get a nice one with good history and it can only go in one direction....when you compare them with other classics they are so much more rare....

Hi Andrew,

Obviously I am going to go Bora.... The only other classic Maserati I considered when buying mine was a Ghibli.

Though as has been said finding a genuinely good car at that price may not be easy. A forced sale at an auction maybe, you never know.

If you find a car to go and look out give me a shout and I will happily go with you.

Regards,

Robin

Magnum PI was a 308. You will find the 328 was a great car from Ferrari.

Personally I think the 308 is a purer design and the difference in performance between a late 308 QV is not that great especially when you are talking in terms of classic ownership.

Totally different car to the Bora in every respect though and personally I would say should not be compared as alternatives. The equivalent Ferrari's would be the Daytona or the 365 BB.

But then for what I paid for my 308 I am comfortable I am unlikely to lose money....

Practically no difference between the 2. Cosmetics, 200cc and 15bhp? It still looks like a car that a fat american would squeeze his carcass into. Whatever you say, there are far better ways to spend £30k+.

A fat American would struggle to fit his carcass into a 308, they are actually quite small cars.

only one problem with a 328 Adam is that you look like a .... driving one!

as Benny says they have a serious image problem, it says you can't afford a decent Ferrari, like driving a 20 year old bentley you just look like a scrap metal dealer......

Thanks Andrew :saifi4:

I don't doubt it Adam, but they are fairly cr4p. Too 70's and Magnum PI for me. IMO, there are far better ways of spending £30-50k.

You know Benny you can half not talk some clap trap at times. What in heavens makes you think that every guy who drives a 328 is trying to look like Tom Selleck?????
