Bought my Maserati 4200CC just 12 days ago and I can't stop smiling. Yes, it drinks petrol like I drink Guinness but hey it's my 'midlifecrisis' car. As a friend said 'Yes an XKR is a safe buy but when your are having a mid life crisis you don't play it safe!'.
It had to be a Maserati as I've owned fast bikes all my life and been all over Europe on them, flown around the world with work and leisure so there wasn't much left on the 'list of things to do before you die'!
Anyway, I'm loving it. Bought from Charlie at Classic Connection, previously owned by a lady lawyer (Yes I've 'googled' her, she's on Facebook too) who apparently sucked up a bit of water and it needed an complete engine rebuild (£17k!) at 38k miles. It's just clicked over 60k now, over 500 by me!
I fancy doing a tour in Europe this summer, possibly doing a trip to the Maserati Factory (or is this too much of a cliche?) I know it's gonna cost but that what these cars are for aren't they? For driving lo-ong distances in comfort and for enjoying.
So what's currently wrong with it? Erm, nothing! Well CD changer doesn't want to work, LW and MW do not want to know either, no NIT discs, I've not got a 'full-size SIM' for the telephone, so I can't use that. Oh and I am entirely responsible for the passenger window dip failing. It just broke on me at Cherwell services. I live not too far from Emblem so I'll pop along there one day and get it checked out. Oh and it's dirty...clay time sometime soon...got a willing volunteer too he just wants a drive as recompense.
Anyway that's me, and I like to say thank you to all you guys and girls out there on this forum and other fora (forums) for all your advice and insight into owning a Maserati whilst I have been doing my homework for the past 6 months...it is truly appreciated.
Thank you
