It is for racing. We enjoy a challenge, got normal engine changes down to under two hours now. Takes about 8 of us and a lot of beer and sandwiches though!M3 engine in a E30 is a huge amount of time, fabrication and money in comparison to the M52 2.8 engine - very little difference low down, all of the M3 advantages are much higher up the rev range which is only usable in 'race' conditions
Nice motor! Looks like a cracking fit. My E30s are best described as "well worn"Have a look here to see the M52 sitting in my E30 convertible. It's much closer to being finished now, I've even driven it under it's own steam!
