My first priority is to get them to fix the initial problem without costing me anymore £ as thats the main reason the car went in. Once I have that under control then I'll mention the washing though I'd rather do it myself now. I know thats not the point but I really can't be bothered and it they give it to someone and something else happens I'll just be in a spiral of complaining and fixing and I'm not sure I have the time for that in the next few months. But I'll play it by ear.
Roger, your pictures on the OCD grill resto thread say enough, I would think. Treat it as a before and after and surely you have enough to encourage them to get a pro out to remedy their own handiwork.

so Owens mailed me yesterday...... "to make sure everything is satisfactory with your vehicle following the work carried out and you were happy with the service provided by our staff while the car was in our care." The word that jumps out here is 'care'. I've sent a mail along with these pics. Lets see how they respond.

What did they wash it with?? A bucket of gravel? I look forward to learning what they have to say in response.

Let's see where you get to. Fingers crossed. But do you really want them trying to sort it out again?

exactly! They have called and are picking the car up again to review the random fault and are hinting on a full detail. Well to my standard? mmmmmmm. I know I'm not Miracle detail but I could give him a good run for his money. Update in 2 or so weeks I guess.

My GTV was immaculate bar one bar mark on the rear bumper which I did and knew about. It went in for a cambelt change at a small independent and what a mess. I pointed all this out to the guy who claimed nothing had happenened to it while he was there. It hadn't been washed. My theory is some sort of airline being dragged over the bonnet and rear off side wing full of grit. Just won't be going there again.
