Changing the ignition switch

Came out really easy, on the advice of my much experienced mechanic after I'd sourced a dremel and a right angle drill, tap it with a hammer and punch in an anticlockwise motion, next problem, how to separate the ignition switch and barrel , nothing seems to move, any ideas

Now you say it out loud !!!

Sat on my desk that didn't occur to me :D

All back together, just giving the battery a good charge before I start it

On the hottest day of the year so far I've started changing the ignition switch , got the wheel and the cowling off ,the boss is still on, does it have to come off because it's going to need a puller , did a quick search but couldn't find a how to from this point on

Just looking at your replacement part Wack61, where did you source it? I can only find the whole replacement with barrel and new key for £500ish!

Sorry can't remember , it was 3 years ago , I do remember it was new and in a box , new old stock I think, wasn't expensive , didn't solve the problem IIRC

Thanks anyway, I'm not sure that's the problem here as the key still returns to the correct place.
But I'm getting the intermittent wipers, fan and indicators.
I've checked the relays and fuses and they are fine.
I think it maybe water ingress, I think I need to take the dash off.

If I’m reading this and the other thread right you can get intermittent wipers but permanent sweep?
