Collecting the GS tomorrow morning and can't wait :)

Think I've made the right decision in not buying a 997, and remain undeterred even after a good mate (who has a brand new 911 Turbo S, Ferrari California and now a 458 Spyder on order) asked "Why the **** have you bought that ****??!!' when I told him what I was getting. Ah well.

I'll post some pics of the car in due course...

To be fair, Simon's mate has a pretty decent taste in cars. I'd be very happy with his collection. It's quite simple - he hasn't experienced the brand or ownership. Ignorance isn't always bliss!

Simon, I would imagine you're very excited. I collected my GS a year ago today and know just how I felt doing it! Enjoy your best Xmas present to date and be sure to post some pictures soon.

Simon,
Well done and forget this geezer who calls himself your mate, he thinks more of what he thinks than he does what you think, that's not what I call a mate..!! All the best with your new GS, you will not be sorry and you will have plenty of decent mates on here who think you have made an excellent choice..!!
Cheers

Great news, Simon! Well done and enjoy it. I hope you manage to get a good sleep tonight but don't hold out much hope. I was useless for the week before I collected mine. Still am, come to think of it.

Nice one Simon. We can promise that the journey you are about to undertake will be both more enjoyable and rewarding than 911 ownership. Trust me, i've had 7 of those!

Look forward to seeing the car at some point, the colour scheme looks great.

Congratulations Simon. I had one, have always regretted selling it, and now want another. I also had a 997, was bored with it within a week, and would never have another. You made the right choice, and its wonderful not to be mainstream

well Ok but not the Californian, not the best from Ferrari, tame to drive, has TVR exhausts and 1985 sierra rear lights, even with the Saxo smoke tint. Hate them.

Good luck with the GS, stand out as having taste with the supercar company with proper history.

Simon ignore your so called mate, if he dismisses a GranSport without reason then he does not know as much about cars as he thinks he does.

Great car that you have got for a great price.

So, collected the GS this morning and had an enjoyable if slightly nervous drive back home while getting the feel of the car.

Am starting to regret not getting an Indy inspection done after I found out within the first few miles that the auto gearbox doesn't seem to want to change up. It drives fine with the paddles - which is how I intend to drive it - but it's nice to know that everything works. Any ideas guys?

Also, note to self, must remember to change my signature on the forum :)
