I was watching a video when this popped up

There's something seriously wrong with a system that allows money to circumvent the law

Guy in a lamborghini is a tit , parks on hatchings in the middle of the road, undertakes a van then sits there on his phone, obviously CM is recording all this, sends it to the police and the CPS prosecute , there's clear video of the drivers face

The car is owned by a company, they refuse to ID the driver so the CPS drop all the charges and fine the company £1000 for failing to ID the driver who apart from getting his cheque book out suffers no concequences

Yep been the law for a while. The police get a grand so don’t pursue it. Money over prosecution, it’s bent

Didnt Manchester United do the same thing about 10 plus years ago. Made news headlines at the time.

Cycling Mikey needs to get a life. Don’t know how long he was parked on hatching, he undertakes as someone is hovering in the overtaking lane without performing an overtake, uses his phone when at a standstill (yes, I’m aware this is illegal). It would be lovely if this jobsworth was convicted from his own footage when riding on the pavement just before he sticks his head up in the clip. Police is one thing but being convicted on the footage of jobsworths with a helmet camera should be outlawed.

He wasn’t in the way of anyone, he let the cyclist out (who was sitting on the hatching) and the van was sitting behind someone turning right so I’d have done the same. Did cycling mickey report the cyclist on his phone? The thing I hate about this **** is he gives cyclists a bad name. Reporting someone for almost killing you is one thing but going out of your way to report other road users especially when they didn’t affect anyone is full on cockwomble with a helping of pissflaps.

Wonderful way with words @Oneball, spat my coffee out ;)

I don’t buy into cycling/driving divisive commentaries as I, like most of us, are both at times. Seldom (outside London) anyone is exclusively one or the other. My bike is very handy for commuting to/from our local hostelries.

I am not convinced that pausing within the hatchlings, that were boarded by a broken white line, was really a prosecutable offence, the mobile phone use clearly was.

I share the view that MC should find another way of earning a living, save the use of dash cam footage for prosecution for more serious matters.

The only excuse for a company not being able to identify a driver is if the vehicle in question is used by multiple drivers daily and poor record keeping, clearly this would not be the case with this car,

No seat belt either

but I think the biggest crime here was kerbing the alloys

I saw that, if it was a rental that'll be expensive

I do think Cycling Mikey is a tit who looks exactly like you think he will, it's the fact that there's such an easy way of avoiding points that annoyed me

Over the years I've caught many instances of bad driving but never reported any of them, I did send footage to the company of a car driving into a truck on the M6 just in case the car driver said something else happened but that was it

It's a slippery slope once the public start reporting each other.

Communist era East Berlin.
So very true, 1 in 6 east Germans effectively worked for the Stasi, except their punishments were worse than 3 points in your license.

And remember the police want you videos to boost crime detection rates...forget sexual violence, murders and fraud investigations when the public do the work.

Sometime this place is hilarious. Head over to the e-scooter thread and the problem is people not obeying or respecting the law, in here, the problem is people trying to uphold the law and SM not respecting it!

I don't disagree that Mikey is an idiot that gives cyclists a bad name, but he's also raising awareness, and potentially stopping folk getting hurt.
Should he get a life?
I don't think a bunch of old rich guys who choose to spend their time ranting about **** on a website are in much of a better position to be honest!

We're all laughing at Mr. Lambo kerbing his alloys, there could have been a pedestrian or cyclist there when he was unable to properly control his car - unless we all think he deliberately drove it into a kerb...
You make your own decisions and you accept the consequences.
Mr. Lambo deserved a fine and points that he didn't get due to a technicality, despite his face being on camera, that's the real injustice here that we should all be talking about.

I absolutely don't agree with this concept of "wait until something serious happens before you report it." That's just stupid.
