Of course they do, you grow the oats, harvest the seeds, milk them and the straw left over becomes silage.
What vegans don't realise is that, agricultural bi-products are used in some way to support feedstock. It's called being efficient with the resources available.

We can't eat straw but an animal can and I can eat its products.

Pulp as well

Also, what holds/glues together the boxes on some of the vegan and vegetarian food...

Check out Iowa Dairy Farmer, he's fed up to the back teeth of opinionated Activist Vegans who come out with myths and untruths about Dairy Farming in the US. He's really educational and honest.
He was asked if he feeds Skittles to his herd and he says yes, as part of a balanced diet Skittles from the local factory which have been rejected for some reason do go into the feed stock as they are a source of sugar and energy for the cow. Why not, they are cheap and would only go to landfill as waste. It's more environmentally responsible to dispose of them this way.

Reminds me of one time when my bees were making bright green honey so contacted local food people who analysed it and pronounced ‘mint sweets’!

Turned out the bees had found sweet waste being fed to pigs and filled their boots too.

E Scooters are an absolute pain in the backside especially in cities and towns and a total eyesore when just abandoned as people just dump them anywhere.

I've used them for a while and find them a great alternative to cycling.

Appreciate that not everyone will love that opinion, but used correctly in accordance with the (current) legislation they're a great addition to urban transport.
Except that according to current legislation, you cannot use them as urban transport at all.
Except the registered rental schemes. And there aren't any of those within miles of where I live. So every one I see, is not used correctly. According to current legislation.

I saw 15 illegal immigrants come out of the benefits office on them...grrr...

Mods: please rename this thread 'The Daily Mail '

I'm just waiting till I see one propped up outside an over-chromed caravan on the local bit of waste land, its only a matter of time, and I'll be on the blower to the DM sharpish.
And if it isn't, I'll stage it.

A few weeks ago there was a guy in front of me doing 30 on a pushbike, then I noticed he wasn't pedaling, we got to the 40 and he pulled away from me, must've hit 45mph, no protective gear at all, not even a cycle helmet, madness

Where’s ‘Cycle Michael’ when you need him??
He's not interested unless it's a car

This is also totes illegal. Electrical assistance on a bike is limited to 15mph. Beyond that, its classed as motorcycle and all usual laws apply.
Unlike E scooters though, there have been prosecutions for this, at least in my area

The guys in the bike shop I use, reckon to make an electric bike exceed the 15mph is very easy, but obviously it shortens the battery life substantially.

I wasn't talking about any trial schemes in your area, I was talking about my experience using them..

The number of home diy kits on the market is surprising, and they will all do in excess of 30mph!!

We’ve the E scooter and E skate long board problem here on the GC.
They go past you on the Parklands at a ridiculous speed…..you don’t even hear them coming.
Deadly.

Im getting old.
I’d probably have one if I was 18, with go faster stripes and air horns.

Driving in central Paris recently was utterly ridiculous due to the crazy scooters ("les trottinettes") not to mention mopeds, bikes and the mad Parisien drivers.... 10 times worse than London

Funnily enough this popped up today, and I thought 'oh dear', but it's actually rather nice

Amsterdam, December 8, 2022 - Eysing presents world premiere PF 40, an e-moped designed by Pininfarina, at Masters Expo 2022. The two brands recently have signed a collaboration for the development of e-mopeds that celebrate the iconic Eysink and at the same time are able to speak to the future.
PF40 “design by Pininfarina”, which will support the Eysing Pioneer, stands out for its Italian touch and Dutch production motor. Born from the meeting between Pininfarina and Esying’s passion for historical heritage, timeless style and innovation, the new Eysing embodies common values and the ambition to be a very exclusive product.
Defined by a slender line, the style of PF40 “design by Pininfarina” recalls the motorcycles of the ‘30s and, at the same time, it presents innovative elements that project it into the future creating a “retro-futuristic” flair. The retro look characterizes the structure and some components of the e-moped such as the analog tachometer and the vintage headlight directly evoke the character of the legendary Eysink. The design is inspired by tomorrow.

The chassis and its structure have been completely redesigned by Pininfarina’s design team to improve the driving experience. The motor has been moved in the lower part of the vehicle while next to the saddle there is a transparent tank, which works as a storage and allows a glimpse of the contents. The “retro-futuristic” style is also highlighted by the spoked wheels, which are made of polished aluminium and by the front fork suspensions characterized by a slim line. In terms of performance, the PF 40 is an electric moped equipped with a powerful battery that guarantees up to 80 km of range. It will be available in different colours and types of painting and the first models will be delivered in 2024.

The PF40 design by Pininfarina will be displayed from the 8th of December in the RAI Amsterdam exhibition building and will be on pre-sale from December 8 with a starting price of €13.780.
