i get close to his times, about 0.2 seconds off around a 30 second lap kart track, i can over take him but he will bully me into a mistake, he used to be around 2 seconds quicker but that was about 3-4 years ago when he was much lighter and not as tall as me.

you have never been karting???? oh it is brilliant, i love it, once you go, your hooked. Outdoor karting is the best, karts are a bit quicker but it is more money.

Reminisce about the advert - Black and Gold at 200mph, Black and Gold JPS Lotus, driven by Ayrton Senna - not so sure the LADA sponsers logo is good indication, luckily its not on the engine cover

PS ALL Motorsport is great
MOTO GP - fearless riders
British Superbikes - almost fearless riders
World Superbikes - more fearless than some but not as fearless as others
British Touring Cars - Tin tops on your high street racing
German Touring Cars - tin topswith wings and body kits (Essex High streets)
Le Mans Series - 24hr better to watch live
F1 - best girls
World Rally Championship - lunatics driving through forests with no thought for the damage to flora and fauna
Truck Racing - who on earth invented that - great idea!

And most of it free on TV!!

Personally, the best motor racing i watched last year at an event was the BTCC races and the Renault Clio Cup Championship, there is so much over taking in the Clio races, great to watch.

I do enjoy watching the sprogs in the Ginetta's and though I CANNOT BELIEVE I'M ABOUT TO SAY THIS, those Porkers are awesome track tools.

Miles the Porsche Carrera Gt3 Cup cars are unbelieveable, i have been fortunate to have experienced 5 laps at oulton park in one, the grip and the brakes are just unbelieveable.

you still up miles?? fancy a mad 1?? come down the M1 for a coffee??

Haha, Dem that would be great, and I'll hold you to it one day, but sadly it's a 'school' night and I have a mad week ahead. Will be away to bed shortly.

Adam, I have a weird relationship with these souped up Beetles. My second car was a 67 Beetle and I immersed myself in all things classic Deutsche, indeed I still adore the 356, but modern Porkers? Hmm. I admire that they're unbelievably well engineered, and would be intrigued to drive one, but I could never own one. Just something fundamentally lacking.

That said, on a track where the only purpose is to get from A to A quicker than the competition, I can accept that there's little that can hold a candle to them.

Oooh, Bull Run's on the telly! May stay up a little longer. :)

Well you said it Miles....But yes the GT Porsches are brilliant.....Such a great race series with close racing...Very exciting. Agree with you about the young uns as well.....Bit embarrassed that they are 12 plus and can drive better than me.

some of the drivers in it are very young, a couple are only my age whereas some are about 40-45 so it is for anyone any age. The specialist i worked at raced in the this championship and it is bloody expenive, 15k for each round of the championship.

So Bahrain is cancelled.

Hardly unexpected given the civil unrest and the fact that it seems to be getting worse by the day.
