The late, great Rik Mayall. Steve Coogan.

The worst, Sid Little

Not a fan of fellow-Boltonian Peter Kay, because I've actually met him.
So often the case , my childhood hero Norman Wisdom , used to live up the road from me I'm West Chiltington Sussex what an arrogant assshole of the highest order

Alternative comedy:

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) -

"People need to tackle both the coronavirus pandemic and the climate crisis together, Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg told an Earth Day event on Wednesday."

"Thunberg said in March she had probably had been infected with the coronavirus after travelling to affected countries, though her symptoms were mild and she had not been tested."

He was mine to Loz....He had a home around Chepstow once and saw him in Tesco....He was just like his character....falling over etc...Playing to the crowd.

Brendan O'Carroll of Mrs Brown's boys is truly truly dreadful.

Good God yes to this! My brother thinks he is great yet I find it utterly moronic....tastes ehh? Another not mentioned so far would be Steve Hughes although not seen much of him of late....

Just wondering if your taste in comedians says a little about your character , whether you take life lightly or are you a sourpuss bore

This seems like an extraordinarily provocative opening line! :)

There is a notion in comedy that the two main options are to be cheerfully enjoying your own act (Ricky Gervais, Michael Macintyre) or not really finding your own jokes funny (Paul Merton, Jack Dee ). But I'm not sure that links to whether the fan is lighthearted or sour.

I like Lee Mack, Kevin Bridges and Peter Kay in his character rolls in shows like Phoenix Nights - not keen on his stand up routines.
As for old school, I love Chic Murray. His big break came just as the Suez crisis erupted and everything was cancelled. It didn't come round again for him. Many comedians including Billy Connolly say that he was their hero and inspiration. Not a lot of material online.
Too many unfunnies to mention.

I've seen some Gary Delaney on YouTube and thought him excellent at one liners. A lot of new material.
