Sincere thanks to everyone who showed endless patience with my newb questions, until I discovered that these same questions had been asked and answered many times before and were archived in these various forum pages. After eight months of looking at Astons, Jags and others, on Friday I took delivery of the car you see in the attached photos. Perhaps not exactly the colour combination I would've chosen, if I had a money tree in my garden, but I was able to negotiate a fantastic deal and so far the car has completely exceeded my expectations. For the first time, I'm starting to understand why you all feel so much passion for the marque.
Special thanks to Phil for fielding some questions 1-2-1. I hope over time to meet as many of you as possible. Meantime, the first order of business is to get her to my local specialist, to discover what my first Eurospares order will consist of ;)

Thanks guys. No, 'just' a 2008 4.2. There's really nothing needs doing immediately, though she is due a major service and the engine oil is on the low side. So, it'll be a service at the indy here in N.I. this month and buying a few bits and bobs that I'm likely to need after the summer, or next year. Tyres, discs, pads etc
The photos really don't do it justice, to be honest.

Thanks again guys.
Yes, I am smitten.
Sitting in her, even just bimbling about as I was doing yesterday, is a fab place to be.
Even without an x pipe, in sport mode, driving through narrow streets, had me
grinning like a Cheshire cat on laughing gas!
Because of my back injuries, all I've driven for more than a decade is my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
This is as relaxing to drive as my Jeep, but as intoxicating as heroin.

Well done mate Glad you got one and happy to have assisted you in the process. I have spent 500 miles in mine this weekend and loved every single one, had people leaning out of windows filming the car etc and smiles :D as you say very addictive cars for sure. The experience gets 10x better with a decent exhaust Mod!

I used to drive a lot of British MG and Triumph classics in my 20's and the reaction I used to get then, is what you described Phil and what I experienced over the weekend.
And yes, I probably will cave to pressure (of the nicest kind) and tinker with the exhaust. At low revs, there's not the burble I've known in other V8s. I'm happy enough to sit back and enjoy the summer (if we get one) and keep my eyes peeled for a good exhaust deal, if one should appear.

Looks lovely - well done! Good colour combination to my mind - classic!

Thanks mate. In the ad the seller placed, the interior looked rather loud. Thankfully in reality, its a lot more understated and as you say, a more classic look and is immaculate.

I like the red black colour combo. If you're after a deeper V8 burble, then you'll need the H pipe and set of ear defenders
