9 1/2 years ago now when I set my company up (when I didn't have a pot to p*ss in) I bought a 300 quid Mondeo off eBay as I needed a car.
That lasted exactly 28 days before it blew up on the M25.
In the breakdown truck I bought an Arctic Verde (snot green as I called it) Alfa 156 for the princely sum of 700 quid.
In two years and 30,000 miles of ownership it only failed me once (flat battery) and I only ever needed to put tyres on it, never needed a drop of oil (rare for a twinspark) and put me on the road to where I am now.
I'd say it was the best car I ever owned for so many reasons. I'd say green is far from unlucky. For me at least.
