Retractable is illegal in Turkey after people used it for free toll and escape speed cams :)

Surely that's the only reason people would put this sort of plate on a car....To escape the law.

I think people also put them on show cars, so they can hide the plate while exhibiting. But yes, mostly the other reason.

I removed the number plate holder today... It really is quite nasty, especially the one on my car as it has been royally abused.

The car looks much nicer without the front number plate and particularly that hideous bracket... The problem is the bumper is a bit ****** behind the bracket in that some bright spark at some point put 2 holes in it by using extra long number plate screws.

Buy a new one for 50 quid or strip the paint scrub off the oxidation paint and refit with the correct bush mounts I got from meridien. Think I'll go with the latter and see how it goes!

That looks completely different to the one I bought from Maserati. Mine was much smaller . If you ask Hunta nicely he might pull off the number plate and take a pic.

Probably the difference between classic front bumper and facelift/GS... Does it look less like a piece of poo?

Whats the rear one like ?
I think you should lift the ear axle off the ground to find out...( and check your drive train for backlash whilst you;re there...lol ) :saifi2::D

Are your photos just deceptive and it’s actually quite small. The 3200 one is pretty small.

Ah, I see the difference now. The curve on the bottom of the bumper isn’t there on the GS, it’s just flat.

My fabricator made this and only charged me £20... Maserati tax avoided

I installed the bush mounts, I had to massively drill out the three existing holes in the bumper - ended up drilling it out with a 10mm drill bit and pushing the bush in. I was a little hesitant so worked my way up with every size bit until the mounts popped through... but once the bolts were fully tight the bumper bracket and number plate are solidly held on the bumper
