whats the biggest cost if anything on xenons goes wrong??

I Have come accross about five different cars ( not Maserati ) with Xeons out and every case turned out to be a bad connection so give everything a waggle if you pardon the expression!

As Jagpurr states , things rarely go on xennons other than connections Dem , but bits are easily available 2nd hand as so many get crashed ( headlights are the first to go usually) so cheap to repair replace bits, but there an awkward item to get at at the best of times ,

Forgot to say Matt if its the power pack, headlight has to come out , make sure power is off at the battery and it has had plenty of time to de-energise as Safrane quoted there's an awful lot of power in that thing , suggest you use the cat to earth it out hhahaha
