I've not long had my GTS and already suffered from the dreaded battery problems this car is known for.
So, I drove the car on Sunday night, a decent round trip up to North London and back again to Surrey with no problems. Tried starting the car on Tuesday night and couldn't get in - the battery barely had enough power to flash the indicators.
Was a little bit concerned as the previous buyer mentioned the battery was very recent and a heavy duty RAC one, and it shouldn't have died in under 48 hours.
Anyway, I jump started it using another car (a big no no apparently, but I was desperate) and it seemed to do the trick.
BUT, because the door handle electrical switch wasn't working when the battery was dead I had to use the manual button to get access to the interior, and now the door isn't latching and staying shut. It just bounces back when I try and close it.
I tried all the obvious solutions like turning the latch, spraying liberal amounts of WD40 on the area and in the door mechanism but to no avail. The manual button behind the door handle hasn't popped back out and is stuck in the 'open' position (see my really bad picture below - it's on the left).
Any pointers or anyone been in a similar position? Have searched but not really found anything too helpful. My other car seems to have blown its turbos so I have two very expensive paperweights right now and no mode of transport so any help would be much appreciated!
