I owned an SL500 of that shape when they came out a decade ago, the handling was pretty good, used to set off the anti roll bar with a spirited drive! Trouble is I owned the 3200 at the same time so the SL did not stay long. I've read that they cost a lot to fix and have lots of electrical faults but no first hand knowledge other than when they were new. Owned mine from new for six months and only lost £3000 - those were the days!
