OMG look at this, for an Escort, no way, i know they are rare but bloody nora

http://pistonheads.com/sales/1175944.htm

You do know that's not an Escort don't you?

A mate of mine's Dad used to make replicas of these when I was at school, so about 15 years ago. To the untrained eye they were identical but in fact shared 0% of the body panels. I think there were a few options with regards to power plants, the cossie turbo being the favourite. Can't remember what he was charging for them, but I would have guessed about £25k back then.

In fact..... I just did a google search on the his company name and found this: http://passionford.com/forum/cars-for-sale/359733-rs200-replica-for-sale-now-on-ebay.html

First performance car after a Citroen GS ( Dad gave me it to lean to drive) I had a Renault 5 Gordini Turbo 17 years old no NCB £1150 TPFT (in 1985!) then in late 87 of that I was able to get myself in big dept for the maddest car I ever owned Renault Maxi 5 Turbo last encarnation of the Mid engined Group B rally car. Needless to say it was way too much for a kid to drive and cost a fortune to run. IT WAS FANTASTIC.I'll dig out some photo's and scan them in at some point.

Gordini Renaults are amazing things, i really like them a lot. The Renault 5 Turbo, beast, dont see them for sale that often.

I think it is the best Cooper S JCW as it is supercharged so you get that lovely whine noise, the new one is turbo charged, which i dont like as much.

Turbos are a bit more urgent though..Or thats the felling I had when I drove a Cooper S...It took time to wind up where as a turbo hits you will and gut full of shove.

The Works feel a bit different as it does have an extra 40 bhp over a standard Cooper S, the supercharger seemed to provide instant punch and it flew from 40-70 mph in no time.

I love my Cooper S, it shows a lot of things a clean pair of heels! Managed to Vmax it at 140mph (not in this country) which I was pretty impressed by.
When I bought it I did back to back testing with the S/C and turbo versions, whilst I love the S/C whine the turbo one was noticeably quicker... it's also in a lower tax bracket and has better mpg too. Never driven a JCW but I bet they're great fun.

Thought as much Dan.......Because of the nature of a turbo it shuld be a quicker car if you added it to the same size engine as one with a super charger.

The Turbo JCW is most probably a quicker a car is it was developed in 2008 whereas the Supercharged JCW is a 2003 developed car so in 5 years Mini are bound to have improved the power response of the engine, for me, i would have the Mini GP, o.k 2 seats is a bit silly but it just looks the most fun.
