Dicky's 4200 is a well sorted car....It looked very flat through the corners at Llandow........

Surely this is all a good advert for anyone who wants to turn their 4200 into the car it should always have been?

There's a GranSport on the forcourt at Brentwood Aston Martin today 39,124 miles black well specked, dark red iinteriorV8MYT reg, anyones? They have it up for £25,995 it is almost wrapped in Armourfend on the front and skirts (I'm not a fan of this stuff) so paint should be pretty good underneath, near side rear rim is kerbed but others look reasonable.

Same dealer has a GS Spyder in Hatfield. I'd assumed the above was PX'd against it and went to have a nose around it last night, only to see the Spyder still there. MrsWoody started saying "so, are you going to buy that one then....."

I think she thinks I've got Arab parents or something!

I don't accept that a 4200 Granturismo has any bearing on the Gransport price. The Gransport is a far edgier car, much sportier and will appeal to different market. It is also considerably smaller and faster. The best comparison can be between the GS and the GTS and considering there is no significant difference in performance the GTS is mad ly more expensive than even the most expensive GS.

Then there is the exclusivity differences. The GS remains a rare sight on our roads whilst the Granturismo and GTS is becoming a very common sight especially in London. Personally, I think the GS will stabalise and in years to come may even appreciate in price as good examples become harder to find. This is perhaps why I would seriously consider a Ferrari if making the leap to the next level. Either that or the GTS will have to fall in leaps and bounds. I reckon a 599 will be available sub £100k very shortly and with low mileage. If 4 seats remain the criteria then a Scagletti is phenominal value..............£200,000 super car forlittle more than Granturismo money

For me Maserati has always meant something exclusive and whilst I appreciate big sales are essential for the marque's survival this has meant that much of the exclusivity with new models is being watered down. What a shame to see Maserati as common as a 911
