Looking for a Gran Turismo

I've been looking for a GTS for sometime - I'm a little bit fussy, but also overwhelmed with the numerous options and specifications on various different cars. Is there any sort of database, for want of a better word, where information can be shared over cars currently for sale.

I've looked at a few cars, even managed to put a deposit down on one, but it annoyingly fell through. There are some absolute dogs out there and some dealers best described as liberal with the truth and it would be great if any info on known cars could be shared.

I'm almost getting bored of looking for the right car now - which is sad.

Best to tell us what you are looking for and someone will be along to tell you if it exists.

A guide to budget would be useful.
Do you want an original shape (2008-2012), facelift (2012-2015) or final look (2016-2019)? (Dates are approx.!)
As for gearbox, do you fancy Auto, MC-Shift, or MC Auto Shift?
2 seats, or 4 seats?
Colour preference?
The more you can say what you want, the easier it will be for someone to find it.

Worth have a chat with the likes of Dicky (Richard Grace cars) and Nareman (Nuvola ) both will be happy to explain the various options and give advice on what might suit you best.
they could also source a car for you.

Ideally I’d have a post 2012 facelift MC Shift under 40k miles budget is £40k. Don’t mind the colour, dark grey is a preference but I’d consider othered. Not a cream or red interior.

@Roberts welcome to the fold. I am more than happy to talk you through the cars, give me a bell if you wish. It’s been difficult to find cars for a few months, lots of overpriced and poor examples are for sale. There aren’t many out there worth buying, but persevere and it’ll be worth the wait.

I recently had Maserati Birmingham (Graypaul) Source one for me. Steve Dadds is the guy to ask for. I had a very specific requirement in terms of spec, colour, mileage, options. The only thing i couldnt decide was whether a Stradale (2014 - 2016) or a MC (2018 - 2019) latest facelift. He was so good and gave me great advice and he wasnt just a sales guy, he knwe the cars, had technical knowledge and had even driven them in Italy on tracks. I was pleasantly surprised by how good he was and was not pushy at all. I ended up testing their car first (not the right colour but spec was good) and other dealers Stradale before making my decision. I then ultimately went back to Steve and he worked with me to "Find" a very rare car... Luckily they have owners on their books who they was willing to contact for me. The car I wanted someone had, and again lucky they actually agreed to sell it. The "could take a year possibly to find one" estimate was about a month to find it. Yes i was fortunate no doubt, but its at least another direction to consider while you are also talking to Dicky etc.

If you do talk to Steve, tell him that Ashley with the Rosso Magma GT sent you his way. He will look after you.

I bought my car from Steve and sold it back to him as well. He does know his stuff but, as with almost all non owners, has an annoying habit of starting the car as soon as the ignition is turned on rather than letting it cycle.

Thanks for al the replies - it seems there's very few post 2012 MC shift cars full stop - so I'll probably go auto - is skyhook awful or worth getting? Or is that the sort of question that opens a can of worms?

@Ashventini I think anything from a main dealer will be out of my budget sadly, thanks for the heads up though.

Skyhook is OK. work well, but can be an extra maintenance burden. I had a GT sport a few years ago. 3 yrs (just out of warranty) with 12K miles one of the accelerometers went bad. cost me a grand.. Just got the impression it was going to be a worry. My MC doesnt have skyhook. I only want my GT to feel and sound sporty, so skyhook isnt something i feel is worth it. That said some like it for the comfort. Personal choice.

Main dealer.. yeah understand you point, but was worth sharing as you never know. they do service "their customers" older cars and may contact them. And to be fair i got a very very fair deal from him too.

Steve is a decent chap, but the quality of service post sales from GP Birmingham for me was shockingly poor. Left a very bitter taste. A long list of things that just are really not acceptable from any level of car dealership.

Skyhook was standard, it is deleted for cars with the MC Sportline suspension option. Some like it, personally I think the Sportline is better. Worth trying both (if you can find one with the fixed rate suspension) and see what you think.

For me the after sale service was much better before they moved to the new showroom .... and then went downhill.
