Loz Update

Just spend along time speaking to him after he called me back this morning, and its all very concerning but not desperate.

He wanted me to pass on his situation and assures you he will be back.

Basically, he has been suffering from lung and throat problems for a few months now. He had a bonfire a few weeks back and inhaled a lot of smoke after it went out of control and basically it appears that this has caused damage to his already suffering lungs. As we all know, Loz is a smoker so its always a concern but the doctors seem to feel that the immediate issues are more to do with the smoke inhaled than anything more sinister which is good.

The reason why his phone has been off and not contactable is that he has been in hospital so the gravity of the situation is quite severe, but he is out now, and believe it or not, still considering attending Le Mans albeit as a passenger this time.

We all know Loz and like the rest of us he has petrol running through his veins and the lure of Le Mans is very great.

Message to Loz: There is always next year, your health is more important!

Anyway, I am sure you will all join me in wishing him the best and a speedy recovery.

PS he tells me smoking is a thing of the past so maybe something good can come from all this.

Chin up mate!

Thanks for the update Matt, Loz was the first person I met off the forum, in a filling station to do a "transaction"*.

Get well soon Loz, do what you feel able whenever you can!

*transtaction was selling me some brake pads needed in emergency - proper good samaritan.

Spoke to him as well, he's really considering Le Mans! Fingers crossed that he does whatever is best for him and if that's staying home, so be it.

Just glad he's OK!

Thanks for the update Matt.

Loz, if you read this, get well mate. Le Mans would be great, but not if it's going to put your health at risk!

Hope to see you back to rude health as quickly as possible, and to meet for a beer and chinwag.

Cheers, Miles.

This is the one Maserati-related exception that I'm pleased to read someone is in recovery mode. Dissapointed not to meet you last Sunday Loz, but get well soon and we'll meet at the next one.

All the best
Woody

A big sigh of relief from all of his mates on the forum.

Wishing Loz a speedy and healthy recovery.

Quitting the fags....best thing he will ever do.

Take it very easy and take your time recovering.

All the very best.

All too quiet on here without you Loz; a speedy recovery wished for....

I had 3 older brothers who all influenced my at an early age so I actually started smoking at just 8 years old!!! continued till I was 26... 20 years ago now and I'm still giggered by it, have replaced smoking with overeating and I could start again at any time as I still have the craving!!! Loz, take the oportunity to give up the weed it is the best present you'll ever give yourself (after a Maserati).

Fortunately none of my kids have taken it up (yet) and I hope it stays that way...

Like everyone else I was concerned about your absence - thought you'd taken a long holiday! Glad you're on the mend and hopefully you can kick the weed into touch - I'm surprised you can afford fags and petrol.
