Do ou think so Frank....I have alwas thought it looked fat and just not one of Ferraris best....Mind you I wasn't really a fan when it came out as I think it could never compete on the looks front after the lovely 355......

Hi Dem,

A 360 is a possible short list contender, plus 355 also but I have yet to look deep into both models

Hi Andy, mmmm, yes I agree, and it does seem to be well liked by all,

After a 3200 there is still the need for speed not always but just when you need it, if you get me

Interesting regarding the power figure - when I was at DK Engineering a couple of months ago the rolling road technicians there told me that they'd never seen anything like 375bhp from a standard 355. They said that power is closer to 325/330bhp. I then saw this for myself as 3 different 355s all delivered around those figures, don't think any of them reached 330bhp even.

My old boss had two new 355's 2 years apart and took the 2nd one back saying it was under powered, Ferrari claimed it was fine so he had it rolling roaded and it was < 300bhp at which point Ferrari took it in and worked on it for a few weeks. It was better but nothing like the claimed figure even when worked on; it did sound sweet though, you always knew when he was arriving at work!

The 355 may not be overpowered, but they're still very sprightly, pretty and sound glorious. And on any decent road or track a 3200 or 4200 would have no chance of keeping up. The chassis and handling of the Fez is streets ahead. And the 355 is now going back up in value.

The only complaint I had with my 355's was that the gap between the front top edge of the instrument binnacle and the top of the steering wheel was very small. It's a minor thing, but it annnoyed me. Probably not a problem for people with small hands/fingers.

Personally, I would tend to disagree with your assertion that a 4200 won't keep up with a 355; I've kept up with, and led, several decently driven 355s over various types of roads and never noticed struggling to stay with them. They are a very nice car, albeit a bit fragile, but I wouldn't swap mine for one.

360 is the better car end of story.

Power (SAE net) : 410 bhp (306 kW; 416 PS) @ 8500 rpm
Torque (SAE net) : 286 lb·ft (388 N·m) @ 4750 rpm
0–100 km/h (0-62 mph) : 3.9 sec
Top speed (limited) : 185 mph (298 km/h)
Kerb Weight : 1,250 kg (2,756 lb)
Dry Weight : 1,169 kg (2,577 lb)

Looks nicer imo too.

I think where the Maser would struggle is through the twisties.

I remember when I bought my 4200 the owner floored it and I was astonished at the acceleration compared to the 996 I had at the time, he then stood on the brakes(I was ready to climb in the back seat as I did think we would stop in time!)

He he; Beeny has less weight with no roof and added scuttle brakes!

I do like the 355 a lot but they are too small for my frame I think. Given the run of Ferrari there are others I would have from the same price range first.

Having driven alongside many 360s, I can honestly say that the only 360 I would have is the Challenge Stradale; a fabulous car. One of mine and Ryan's best ever drives was chasing one across north Wales at up to 140. Awesome! That is one of the first in my 'Lottery Winners garage'.
