Just had hanger ticket thing scanned on the Eurotunnel, mid-channel. Apparently a new system they've just brought in. What do they do it it doesn't scan? We are all getting off at the next station anyway!

They didn't scan ours on the way out. Did Mile's and Roger's though. I'd already thrown ours away

Almost back, at Gateshead with relatives. Then a 3 1/2 hour drive. Will post grubby car pics when back, what a trip :)

2700 miles in just under 50 hours of driving.
19.2 mpg, 640 litres of fuel costing 940euros/£735.
One failure on the car - blown brake lamp, replaced at cost of 1.37 euro from an ordinary spares shop in France.

What a trip - the QP performed without a single fault, save for the brake lamp on the way back.

As far as I know, there were only two cars that broke down on the trip, including the French guys. (I know there was a cracked sump, but impact damage doesn't really count as a breakdown for me). Both Ghiblis, and both were water pumps. That's 70-odd Maseratis, including 3 Mistrals which all drove a similar distance. And people think they are unreliable....

Pretty much all the cars were driven over mountain passes, driven in stop/start traffic in the city, hammered around the track (including the Mistrals) and endured the high-speed runs on the motorways. They are simply superb cars - they just need to be used :)

Another one checking back in :) 2850 miles, and now home, so impressed with the AC. Will post pics shortly. Thanks again to all involved, what an epic trip.

A sad end to the tail Adam, still you have an excuse to go back again to complete it now :)

Thanks for the feed back guys, the car will be going to Autoshield for a bit of loving.

Just wont be the same without the convoy Newton, however I don't mind being the catalyst for a reunion next year!

It should just make you love it more Adam ! Personality is what it is. Life would be boring without it.

So a week has passed and hangovers may have gone too (well the alcohol ones...but the credit cards may cause a relapse)...but if I recall there was a post earlier in the threads about Maserati potentially doing somthing to make up for the shoddy way it has treated the European owners who have kept the brand alive for the last 100 years ( rather than the Johnny come lately Chinese and Yanks who just buy them as the latest 'in thing')

So any news on that??????

All I'll say is, don't hold your breath. It would appear that the new breed of bean-counters are more interested in new Russian and Chinese money than European-smoker owners. It's the way of the world I'm afraid and those t0ssers won't lose any sleep over what they've done to us. Bollox to them I say and let's keep our cars going with alternative parts from other suppliers.
