EnzoMC has a gransport ? Anyway if you travelled on the route nationals and departmental roads you must have been on the Route Napoleon. It's a fantastic road, I was planning on driving it but we just wanted to get back quick. Welcome back, did you shut the door behind you?

Sorry, you're quite right. I was thinking it was Davy; he must have done me more mental damage than I thought!!

I'm writing up my experience a little late. We got back last Thursday. Since then I've been back out to Italy attending a conference at Lake Maggiorie. What are the flipping odds!

What a brilliant trip.

Enzo you've summarised it all perfectly.

I think the highlights were the dinner and drinks with the forum lot. My wife and I had a great laugh with Enzo, Conaero, MAF, SteveM and Outrun. Enjoying a lift to the Gala Dinner with Hodroyd whose car sounds beautiful, I said like a brass band and my wife agreed. Excellent stuff. And meeting, drinking and chatting with various people in bars Davy I would love to hear more of your whisky fuelled weekend!

We drove back through Switzerland, Gotthard, Grimsell, Furka and Susten passes. All amazing. The Furka a little worrying and very narrow at times. The Susten we did in torrential rain.

The Black Forest in Germany had some of the most amazing roads, the B500 in particular. Wide, sweeping turns, beautiful scenery, quick, some tight corners. Just brilliant.

I have learnt that the roads in Belgium are awful. Not so much pot holes, more so disintegrating roads, on motorways. Not great. The Italians and their slip lanes onto the motorway being the same as the exit slip road, always interesting fighting for space with a articulated lorry. They also drive like nutters. Compared to the cracking roads in France, Switzerland and Germany.

I'll hopefully get round to putting up a Gopro video soon.

Cheers all

A Little late posting but we arrived home safely on Saturday teatime. What a fantastic trip and much credit and thanks go to Matt, Drew and Robert for organising. All the arrangements were impeccable, hotels great, food fantastic and of course superb company!
After Modena we travelled up to Verona for a night with Matt, Benny, Robert, Shaun etc and then headed back down past Modena to Pisa. The route over the Apennine Mountains was epic and probably the most challenging drive we had. Once at the top had to stop and have coffee/gelati to let car cool down to regain 1st gear (safety feature apparently).

From Pisa we stayed a few days at Forti de Marmi, which was very relaxing and great weather. Swapped the car for a couple of push bikes to get around and generally did nothing for a couple of days. Tore the town up on the way out and headed north to Innsbruck, staying at the rather nice Grand Europa Hotel (highly reccomended, especially restaurant). From here we headed across Germany into Belgium and stayed in Spa. Managed to empty a tank in just over 3 hours! Ate at a lovely steak restaurant and thought of Benny (beautiful steak with CHIPS!) and then made the short hop back to Calais the following day.
Car behaved faultlessly and no issues other than a brake pedal that felt like marshmallows. Car been into dealers for a bleed and all is well now!
Was great to meet loads of new owners and other half's and can't thank the organisers enough, trip of a lifetime I think.
Will post pics once Lisa has uploaded from phone.
Cheers boys and girls

I made it home at 10.30 on Sunday night. Naples to the UK in 36 hours. Not sure if that counts as last!! :)

I echo everyone else's words regarding the organisation. Thanks to Matt, Rob and Il Comandetore (Drew) for the excellent organisation. Also thanks to the whole splinter group - what fun we had.

Highlights for me were the San Bernadino Pass (both ways), The A1 autoroute (Sorry about making too much noise Chris!), the Autodromo and the copious amount of food and wine every night. My car was absolutely faultless, a minor miracle indeed. Lets not wait another 100 years to do it again!

Never too much noise, mate. It was just amusing. Something like a cat that's ****** up an embarassing jump (Benny Hill stylee) and is playing catch up while trying not to look any sillier :)

I think we can say that it was a success, other than Adam's Ghibli 2 and Davy's odd woes, Darren's Skyhook, all cars were faultless. Not bad for 20-odd cars covering over 2500 miles each at speed!

As you know, I have no problem with looking silly. Still waiting for the video!

Just an update regarding monies to be refunded. I have not run off with it and anyone expecting will receive it shortly.

I have not had the final bill through from the Modena hotel so I can't calculate the fees.

Rob, can you chase?

Mine is €80, no idea in Italy as no tag so paid cash. Didn't think that was too bad for travelling 3/4 of the way down France.
